Canadian progressive death metallers AUGURY is currently in the studio recording its second album, "Fragmentary Evidence", for a late 2008 release.

Video footage of the bass-recording sessions for "Fragmentary Evidence" can be viewed below.

AUGURY will support DISMEMBER on a Canadian tour this fall. The trek is shaping up as follows:

The band recently welcomed back its original drummer Étienne Gallo, who appears on the new CD. The group says, "We look forward to working with Étienne now and in the future."

AUGURY's debut album, "Concealed", came out in 2004.

AUGURY: New Song Posted Online - May 15, 2009

Montreal juggernauts AUGURY have posted a new song, "Aetheral", on their MySpace page.

The track, which features guest vocals by Sven de Caluwé (ABORTED, SYSTEM DIVIDE), comes off the band's long-awaited new album, "Fragmentary Evidence", which is scheduled for release on July 17 in Europe and August 11 in North America. The CD was produced by Hugues Deslauriers (CLEARWATER DEATHBLOW), Yannick St-Amand (DESPISED ICON) and AUGURY, and was mixed by KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais (MISERY INDEX, DESPISED ICON, MALEVOLENT CREATION). It was mastered by James Murphy (DEATH, OBITUARY, DISINCARNATE). The artwork and layout was handled by Sven de Caluwé (ABORTED).

Moet zeggen dat het nieuwe materiaal me niet zoveel doet als Concealed - het is allemaal wat meer middle-of-the-road in het genre geworden...

Het nieuwe album klinkt goeeeeeeeeeed!!

Na het album beluisterd te hebben ben ik het hier stellig mee oneens.
Klinkt idd erg goed en is veel meer een luisterplaat dan "Concealed" was.

Hm. Dat youtube filmpje klonk veelbelovend, maar dan luister ik die nummers op de myspace en dan denk ik, daar gaan we weer. 113 riffs in 1 minuut, continu dubbele bassdrums. Nee, dank u.

Mij valt ie tegen. Het is absoluut geen slecht album geworden maar mijn smaak is het totaal niet meer.

Concealed was technisch maar het werd nooit gefreak. Welke vreemde dingen men er ook doorheen gooide, het bleef altijd bruut.

Fragmentary evidence valt niet echt meer bruut te noemen. Er zitten nog steeds stevige death metal passages in maar het overgrote deel is nu fusion metal geworden. Men heeft duidelijk goed geluisterd naar Cynic en concorten.

Nogmaals, het is zeker geen slecht album maar ik had graag wat meer bruutheid gezien en wat minder instrumenteel gepiemel.

Muzikaal is Augury prima, maar ik trek die misplaatste (half) cleane zang van die vent echt niet.

Dat vind ik op die nieuwe ook niet echt lekker klinken op die oude vind ik nog wel ok.
