KING DIAMOND Guitarist's X-WORLD/5 To Sign With AFM RECORDS - Aug. 21, 2007

X-WORLD/5, the new band featuring KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque alongside ex-HAMMERFALL bassist Magnus Rosén and PAGAN'S MIND vocalist Nils K.Rue, is close to signing a deal with Germany's AFM Records. The group, whose mission is to "bring heavy metal into the future," is scheduled to complete its debut album this fall for a February 2008 release.

As previously reported, Andy La Rocque recently moved his studio (formerly known as Los Angered Recording) to Varberg, Sweden (which is located 40 minutes south of Gothenburg) and has renamed it Sonic Train. Check out the studio's web site at this location http://www.sonictrainstudios.com/

KING DIAMOND's latest album, "Give Me Your Soul ... Please" recently entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 28. The CD also landed at No. 58 on the Danish chart (the second highest new entry on the chart behind VELVET REVOLVER).

"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 174 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Doet mij herinneren aan de experimentelere fase van Priest, met Ripper Owens, ten tijde van Jugulator en Demolition.

Hehehe, ik dacht dat turbo een experimentele fase van priest was.

Niet zozeer experimenteel geloof ik, eerder aangepast aan de huidige metaltrend.

Draak van een clip! Maar ja, die laatste KD plaat doet mij ook niet zoveel. Muzikaal dik in orde, jammer dat King z'n stem (helaas) niet meer zo dreigend en falcetto is als voorheen..

Even nog wat nieuws:

..."Another project we've been working on is to create remastered versions of 'The Spider's Lullabye' + 'The Graveyard' + 'Voodoo' + 'House Of God'. Andy La Rocque is undertaking this project at his Sonic Train Studio in Sweden, and so far I have heard his version of 'The Spider's Lullabye' and it kicks some serious ass. It was as if I was listening to a brand new album, it sounded exactly like it should have sounded back when it was released (we did not at that time master our albums ourselves, and let me tell you, they suffered by it). For the first time ever, I heard all the things we actually recorded (certain vocal harmonies and guitar overdubs; all the details are there now). In my opinion, this one is gonna be a MUST HAVE. You know I wouldn't say this if it wasn't true. Andy has just told me that the remastered version of 'The Graveyard' is in the mail for my approval. Once I've listened to it, I'll let you know how it turned out.

"There is another project in the making which I unfortunately cannot speak about yet. If it comes true though, it will be a very big thing for KING DIAMOND/MERCYFUL FATE. It is not a new MERCYFUL FATE album or tour, but it is something that could be very big for us. It is more like being a part of someone else's VERY BIG project, and which can only be announced by them.
