THE EXPLOITED Forced To Cancel Remainder Of Tour After Singer WATTIE Suffers Heart Attack February 14, 2014 10 Comments According to the Portuguese web site Blitz, singer Wattie Buchan of British punk legends THE EXPLOITED suffered a heart attack on stage during the band's concert last night (Thursday, February 13) in Lisbon, Portugal during the "Tour Of Chaos" with HATEBREED and NAPALM DEATH. A fan-filmed video clip shot during last night's gig shows Wattie in visible discomfort while performing with his bandmates and the other members of THE EXPLOITED announcing that they would have to cut the concert short due to the singer's physical problems. Wattie is now said to be under observation in a Portuguese hospital, where he will remain for the next few days. A posting on THE EXPLOITED's official Facebook page reads: "I'm sorry to say that due to a severe illness that Wattie can't continue with the tour. He will be in hospital for at least a week. Thanks for all the get-well messages. Much appreciated. Regards, THE EXPLOITED." THE EXPLOITED recently inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records. Founded in 1980 in East Kilbride, Scottland by Wattie Buchan, the band was working on its new album for a late 2014 release. Nuclear Blast Records will re-release several THE EXPLITED classics on March 14 (March 18 in the U.S.). Just had the doctor who is going to escort me home arrive. In Lisbon everything is looking good for to fly home tomorrow Latest medical update is I have had one valve opened up with a metal ring which basically has saved my life so far . My other two arteries one is totally blocked and then other is just about about blocked so I need a double bye pass when I get home I need to take the medicine that I am on as that's basically keeping me alive right now hopefully I will not have a long wait on a waiting list as the doctors here say I should get this done soon due to my heart being in such a bad way . Anyway that is what the situation is at the moment when I get any updates on what is going on myself or my brother will Keep every one posted with hopefully good news that I have had these operations and survived this cheers again for all the support and well wishes from so many people some of the messages have been a humbling experience THANKS again Wattie Exploited Best wel heftig zeg..... Just to let you guys know that Wattie was taken to hospital yesterday in Belgium. He has a very serious heart condition and almost died. I saw him today and would like to thank the doctors who saved his life. Also he wanted to thank all the fans at last nights show and who turned up to support him and the band. Wattie would like us to continue the tour with out him. We will still be playing our set with guest vocalists from the casualties and others.
