Ja, dat dacht Cult of Luna, en zette een koerswijziging in. Ik vond 'm goed maar niet super, terwijl hun voorgaande twee releases nog wel heersen. Verder heb je gelijk, terwijl ik dat vreemd vind. Het moet nog wel kunnen, maar echt spectaculaire releases in het genre zie ik gewoon niet. Enthousiasme voor de nieuwe Buried Inside neemt eerlijk gezegd ook af, en Callisto en Isis laten te wensen over. Blindead maakte vorig jaar trouwens een lekker album in de stijl van oude Cult of Luna. Dat mogen er van mij meer doen

Nu heb ik geen idee of ik dit album ga kiezen voor mijn top 10, maar het is wel een interessante case en überhaupt een leuke curiositeit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danger_Mouse_and_Sparklehorse_Present:_Dark_Night_of_the_Soul

Samengevat: album is geschreven, opgenomen en in principe klaar om uitgebracht te worden. Platenmaatschappij waar één van de artiesten werk voor heeft gedaan en de ander bij onder contract staat kan de release van de muziek juridisch tegenhouden, maar de artiesten brengen dit jaar alles behalve de muziek zelf uit (boekje, hoesje, CD-R met opdruk, eventuele extra's). Artiesten zeggen dat je de CD-R voor wat dan ook kunt gebruiken en hoezee, wat een toeval, het album is al geruime tijd te vinden via torrents, p2p, rapidshare et cetera.

Mag 'ie meedoen in de top 10 van dit jaar of niet? Lijkt me sowieso van wel, ik mag toch überhaupt zelf weten of ik een leeg album in mijn top 10 zet?

Ah, ligt die al in de platenzaak?

Verder vind ik The West Pole van The Gathering tot nu toe het fijnste wat ik in lange tijd gehoord heb.

Met stip in mijn top 10: Madder Mortem - Eight Ways, godverju, wat een zangeres. Schreeuwt en zingt al die popkes vant podium af.
