Iron Maiden-zanger wees The Voice af

AMSTERDAM - Bruce Dickinson twijfelde geen moment toen hij als jurylid voor de Britse versie van The Voice werd gevraagd. De Iron Maiden-zanger was naar eigen zeggen blij dat hij de BBC, die de talentenjacht uitzendt, kon afwijzen.

"Die show klinkt echt verschrikkelijk en vernederend voor iedereen die eraan meedoet", vindt Dickinson.
"Het deed mij een groot genoegen de BBC te kunnen afwijzen", zegt de 52-jarige zanger tegen het Britse tabloid The Sun. "X Factor is al erg genoeg."

Vindt 'ie mooi, beetje trappen. Verder heeft hij natuurlijk gewoon dubbel en dwars gelijk.

Heeft hij het op het einde van dat stukje over het album van zijn band?

Former IRON MAIDEN frontman Paul Di'Anno will embark on a tour of Brazil, dubbed "Running Free Again" — his first since being jailed in March after he falsely collected U.K. government benefits by claiming he suffered nerve damage to his back that prevented him from working.

Ik ben heel benieuwd of Harris iets kan presteren (lees: iets spannends weet neer te zetten) buiten het bekende maidenstramien.

Dat gezegd hebbende had ik nooit verwacht dat Steve iets solo zou gaan doen. Maiden leek me altijd genoeg voor 'm. Nu alleen Dickinson graag ook nog/weer met een soloschijf.

Niet echt wereldschokkend qua artwork. Hopelijk zegt dat niks over de verdere aanpak van dit project.

Artwork is bijzaak: hoe klinkt het?

De verzorgdheid van artwork en teksten zegt m.i. iets over de manier waarop een artiest zijn project benadert. Zoutloos artwork is niet zelden de voorbode van een flauwe plaat. Uitzonderingen zullen gezien de stroom releases anno 2012 legio zijn en daarom daargelaten. Maar toch.

Wel een vette tour die ze nu in de VS doen overigens.
