Shining of MAdM?

Yup! Best goed album, MAdM, haalt het denk ik net niet.

Twee reviews die ik laatst tegenkwam met betrekking tot Blackjazz.

het is natuurlijk altijd mogelijk dat een band van stijl verandert, maar wanneer dit samen zou gaan met ook een wijziging van nationaliteit ...
zou er toch een belletje mogen rinkelen dat het wel eens om een andere band kan gaan

Als je nou even 2 posts boven je had gekeken...

Ik las het ook net (via t Urfaust topic op dat blog gekomen). Ik lag in een krik. Naast natuurlijk t feit dat er niets maar dan ook niets mis is met deze Shining.

Indd. Het is de Zweedse Shining die van de verkeerde kant is.

Norway's SHINING To Release Live DVD, CD - Sep. 30, 2011

Norwegian "blackjazz" outfit SHINING (not to be confused with the Swedish extreme metal band of the same name) will release its first-ever live DVD and CD, "Live Blackjazz", on November 11 via Indie Recordings. The effort was produced by SHINING frontman Jørgen Munkeby and was mixed by Sean Beavan (MARILYN MANSON, NINE INCH NAILS, SLAYER). The mastering duties were handled by Tom Baker (MARILYN MANSON, NINE INCH NAILS)

For the first time ever, the raw energy of SHINING's legendary live performances has been captured on tape in a setting organized solely by the band itself. Produced by Munkeby and backed by the same mixing and mastering team as on their previous "Blackjazz" studio album, we could not get a truer version of what "Blackjazz" is meant to be. Straight from the horse’s mouth, this is the new standard that bands will strive to match for the next 10 or 20 years to come.

"This is basically the 'Greatest Hits' album we have always dreamed of, now beautifully combined with breath-taking film footage vibrating with power. It feels good to know that people can now truly experience how much fire and effort we pour into our live shows. It could not have been better!" stated Jørgen Munkeby.

Over the course of its impressive 10-plus-year career, SHINING has created its own unique and bizarre hybrid of jazz and extreme metal, which is easily distinguishable from the musical world of their Swedish counterparts sharing the same band name.

Wat vinden jullie? Ik ben bevooroordeeld, ik vind het te gek. Die break op 4:19 na dat nerveuze blaasstuk, man man man... wat een band!

Jaren negentig industrialmetal met een beetje moeilijkdoenerij. Eigenlijk niks nieuws. Beste stroboscoop overdosis ook.

edit: het knalt wel op zich. Het effect over de zang is mij wat te overdreven.

Hard! Verder mag het van mij op zich wel wat meer terug naar In The Kingdom.../Grindstone, dit vind ik net iets te metal.

Weet het nog niet, de logistiek is uitdagend, Haarlem komt me sowieso beter uit qua terugreis. Ik twijfel nog ff, maar de wil is er .

Harde show gisteren in Nijmegen! Erg leuk om ze eens in een klein zaaltje te hebben gezien. Lekker informeel, minder gespannen dan op bijvoorbeeld RB. Wel net zo strak.

Het optreden in Haarlem (afgelopen dinsdag) was ook gaaf. Wat een geweldige geluidsmuur en wat een muzikanten! Het voorprogramma (Dead Neanderthals) was van zeer bedenkelijk niveau.

Review van Live Blackjazz binnenkort op de FP. Is een gave dvd geworden
