With this effort Tombstones redefine their own formula of down-tuned heaviness. Their doom is darker, filthier, heavier and more consistent than ever before. The sinister approach of "Year of the Burial" sends shivers of cold down your spine, and takes you back to the evil priests of ancient times. Unlike any modern production, the sound of Tombstones is rich, warm and dynamic. and has a low end destined to crush all things crossing its path. "Year of the Burial" is recorded live in winter-cold Oslo, behind the gates of Caliban Studios. With it's lack of dead-compressed sounds, the production provided by Petter Svee, Audun Strype and Tombstones, makes you feel present during the actual recording and has a life of its own. Needless to say, this album will leave its marks. Light your candles and feel the darkness!

Deze is door Petter Svee geproduceerd. Klinkt zowaar nog "heavier" dan de vorige vind ik!

Cd is nu beschikbaar! 10 euro + porto.

Lp versie is vertraagd tot 18 Mei.

TOMBSTONES has taken up on their Norse heritage, evolving from their previous stoner-influenced sound, now descending into the dark side of the gloom. “Vargariis” finds the band leaning towards the bleak and desperate, assaulting the listener with their blackened, thunderous wall of fuzz and despair. Two years of intensive touring alongside bands such as Eyehategod, Church of Misery, Egypt and Witch Mountain have kept the band active, and the result unveils in the energy and live presence felt on “Vargariis”. The last couple of years Tombstones has appeared on the legendary Roadburn Festival, Desertfest, Freak Valley Festival, Muskelrock, Doom Over Leipzig, and tours in support of "Vargariis" in 2016 are in the works.
