PRIMUS To Record New Studio Album - July 19, 2005 According to Billboard.com, PRIMUS' classic lineup of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander will hit the studio later this year to record their first album together since 1995's "Tales From the Punchbowl". It will be PRIMUS' first new studio album since 1999's "Antipop". It is unknown if the new set will be released by Claypool's Prawn Song imprint or via another label. Claypool, LaLonde and Alexander regrouped in the fall of 2003 for a North American tour and the Interscope release of a DVD/CD, "Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People". On Saturday (July 23), the group will be the only performer at the revived Lollapalooza festival in Chicago that was a part of the event in its 1990s heyday. Jah primus is super vet. Ik luisterde het zelf al een tijdje voordat het tot me doordrong dat zij het intro muziekje van SouthPark spelen. Ook de tussenstukje van Seinfeld word door die Claypool gespeeld. En de DVD "Animals should not act as humans" is helemaal leip.  |

Ik bedoel meer het gegeven dat ik primus en claypool al waardeerde voor ik wist dat hij dat ook gedaan had. Inderdaad, niet dat die tussenstukjes zo boeiend zijn, maar het gegeven dat claypool dat gedaan heeft is wel grappig. |

Ik vind "Suck On This" en "Frizzle Fry" wel erg gaaf, maar het andere werk kon me niet zo boeien. Ik heb eigenlijk ook een grondige hekel aan slappende basgitaar, maar bij Primus kan ik het des te meer waarderen. Die drummer is ook helemaal te gek, imo. |

Blabbermouth The mighty PRIMUS — bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry Lalonde and drummer Tim Alexander — return this fall with a formidable one-two-three punch. October 17 will bring twin releases: their first-ever retrospective CD "They Can't All Be Zingers: The Best Of Primus" (Interscope/UMe) and a new DVD "Blame It On The Fish" (on their own Frizzle Fry Inc. imprint), subtitled "An Abstract Look at the 2003 Primus Tour De Fromage", their triumphant reunion trek. Next, the band who has been described as ingenious and imaginative, satirical and sarcastic, original and outlandish, will head out on the road for a major North American headlining tour launching November 1 in Austin and wrapping December 9 in Phoenix. Known as one of the most acclaimed and influential underground alternative rock phenomenons of the '90s and beyond, PRIMUS deliver sonic fireworks live like, well, no one else. The 16-selection "They Can't All Be Zingers" spans the band's career from 1990 to 2003, featuring all of its original Modern Rock hits — "Jerry Was A Race Car Driver", "My Name Is Mud" and the Grammy-nominated "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" — plus fan favorites and a previously unreleased, extended version of "Shake Hands With Beef". "They Can't All Be Zingers" also marks the first time that PRIMUS' Interscope Records catalog has been digitally remastered. In addition, "They Can't All Be Zingers" includes "Over The Falls" from 1997's "The Brown Album" (which sported the original "Shake Hands With Beef"), "Coattails Of A Deadman" from 1999's "Antipop" — on which they collaborated with Tom Waits — and "Mary The Ice Cube" from the 2003 DVD+EP "Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People", which debuted at #44 on the Billboard Top 200 and was certified video platinum. "Blame It On The Fish" is the third DVD release from PRIMUS and follows "Hallucino-Genetics Live 2004". Years in the making, this DVD of the band's 2003 reunion tour — which was augmented by ambitious sets and innovative multi-media installations — contains live performance footage, interview segments, candid behind the scenes shots and intense visual imagery. Not a typical concert film, "Blame It On The Fish" is a surreal sensory adventure pushing the limits of visual artistry. The main feature film is 70 minutes and is accompanied by over 90 minutes of bonus material. In addition to dozens of additional scenes, the extras also include a 30-minute futuristic documentary about the band set in the year 2065 and interviews with the then-102-year-old bandleader Les Claypool. "Blame It On The Fish"'s director Matt Powers also directed the award-winning film "Never Been Done Been Done (The Jon Comer Story)" and was director of photography for Les Claypool's "Electric Apricot (Quest for Festeroo)". Fans will luxuriate in live performances of PRIMUS favorites including "Mr. Krinkle", "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver", "Over The Electric Grapevine" and many more. |

MORDRED, BLIND ILLUSION To Perform At San Francisco's THE TIDAL WAVE 10 Festival - Apr. 21, 2007 MORDRED, BLIND ILLUSION and ANVIL CHORUS are among the bands that are tentatively set to appear at The Tidal Wave 10 festival, which will be held July 7-8 at McLaren Park in San Francisco, California. The tentative lineup so far is as follows: MORDRED BLIND ILLUSION ANVIL CHORUS NOCTUARY AVENGER OF BLOOD WARNING SF ULYSSES SIREN MERCENARY SF HATCHET SCARECROW HELLHUNTER For more information, visit www.thetidalwave.org. ANVIL CHORUS, MORDRED and MERCENARY reunited on April 12 at the Bottom Of The Hill in San Francisco to help raise money for the family of guitarist Curtis Grant (ex-BLACK CHERRY, AMERICAN HEARTBREAK), who recently lost his battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The show marked the first appearance of ANVIL CHORUS with original guitarist Doug Piercy (ex-HEATHEN) in over 20 years, as well as the return of original MORDRED vocalist Steve Scates and drummer Erik Lannon after 22 years. The "near-capacity" concert was reportedly a "tremendous success," and substantial proceeds were raised for the Grant family. The evening's performances were all documented, and there are plans for a live DVD to be released at a later date. BLIND ILLUSION Pulls Out Of THE TIDAL WAVE 10 Festival - July 6, 2007 BLIND ILLUSION and ELK have cancelled their participation in The Tidal Wave 10 festival, which will be held July 7-8 at McLaren Park in San Francisco, California. Instead of adding two more acts, the committee and artists have agreed that more time should be added for each band. WINTERTHRALL will headline Sunday while MORDRED will headline Saturday.
