Ferme schop omhoog, maar niet om een leuke reden:
quote: Suhrim R.I.P.
SUHRIM, Belgium’s oldest pure death metal band, has decided to throw in the towel after two decades on the scene.
Vocalist Johan Antonissen has issued the following statement regarding the band’s split: “After suffering through the losses of yet another batch of fellow musicians Timmy [de Beukeleer, guitars] and I have decided to end Suhrim. In the twenty years that we’ve been doing this, we’ve seen a lot of people come and go. As a result, there’s no fire, no spark, no passion anymore in keeping Suhrim alive. The remaining 2 shows (Frontline 18 July and Hangar 27 in Edegem 24 October 2009) will be completed as agreed upon and simultaneously function as the band’s jubilee and farewell shows. These farewell shows will be done in the band’s last line-up of Johan Antonissen, Timmy de Beukeleer, Kevin de Leener, Reinier Schenk and Pieter Van de Putte.”
On their musical future, Antonissen announced the following: “All members will remain active in the music scene in various bands and projects. It’s time to invest our time and energies in something new.
It has been a fantastic 20 years and we are appreciative and thankful of anyone who has helped or supported us in any way or form and we will cherish and treasure these memories for a long time. A big thanks goes out to all former and current members for their dedication, all fans, labels, radios, webzines, magazines that wrote about us and the loyal promoters and venues that booked us over the years.”
