The dark lord of the Mountain of Regret saw the four weary travellers approaching the flanks of His sacred abode and knew all too well what they sought. They came from far to learn and praise the secret art of doom. They came to drink from the chalice of low-end brutality and unabashed metal hymns, to ride with the heathen tyrants, to move the frozen air with amps of brimstone, drums of granite, guitars with Frostian tendencies and howling vocals that rain upon the infidels like a shower of glass, all enveloped within a grinding slab of glacier bass apocalypse, gradually moving forward with menace and Tinitick Spite.

The dark lord took kind to their wishes and showed them the blackened path once trodden by pioneers such as Winter, early Celtic Frost, Dream Death, Saint Vitus, Pentagram and Godflesh. It was a path not favoured by most as it mostly led to the obscure land of Üntrend Öblivium where bands were taunted and scathed for their unwillingness to conform to current (non-metal) trends.

Rising Dust rose from the ashes of famous act Dark White (R.I.P), one of the first french doom band ever, created in 1992, and witch released a demo called "soft and relentless" around 1993 and a MCD entitled "enter the funeral kingdom" in 1995.
The band was built up in 2001 by former Dark White guitar David, now assuming the role of lead singer in addition to his guitar duties.
The rhythmic section is made of Steff ( who used to play in Dark White for the second period ) on bass guitar and Malek on drums.
Our common pleasure and interest is to evolve into a true Doom without any compromises, mainly influenced by bands like:
Saint-Vitus, Pentagram, Obsessed, Trouble, Black Sabbath, Paul Chain, Candlemass, count Raven, Death SS, Witchfinder General....
but also by seventies acts, psychedelic or not, such as atomic Rooster, Necromandus, Arzachel, Motorhead, Warpig, Hawkwind, Captain Beyond, Yellow, Jason Crest and of course Blue Cheer ! ( and there's many others ! )
It's a long and hard way to play doom and rock'n'roll, (we) keep the faith, stay heavy and loud.
Doom forever...

2 toffe bands, maar waar ligt Ieper??

in België - West-Vlaanderen.

Volg op de autostrade Antwerpen - dan Gent - dan Kortrijk - dan Ieper. Eigenlijk gewoon de autostrade helemaal afrijden. De vort'n vis ligt bij de markt in ieper (sint jacobsstraat).
