Tomutonttu, Axolotl and The Skaters are three important acts in today's drone/noise/psychedelia scene, an invariably growing movement. Boris closes a massive set with sledgehammer drums and a bass sound to get your trouser legs flappin. You should stumble home at the end of the night enveloped in that misty swampsound .

AXOLOTL
Though at times an ensemble, Axolotl is more often than not the deeply dream-like explorations of Karl Marx Bauer. Using his voice and an battered acoustic violin sent through a web of electronics, Bauer creates transcendent drones and melodies that are both frighteningly beautiful and seductively eerie.

THE SKATERS
The duo Spencer Clark and James Ferraro from southern California are The Skaters. It¹s improvised music, done with voices that are processed through analog effect pedals and stations. End result is explosive electricity barrage of shards of pure sound and difused sonic hicups.

TOMUTONTTU
Tomutonttu is a current project from Jan Andrezen of Kemialliset Ystävät, Kiila and Avarus. One of the main movers in the Finnish community of freeform art of recent years. Toy reed streams, mutilated vocals and groovy loops of animal noise are some of the colors used to create the whirling mess that is the lonely song of Tomutonttu. A microcosmos of strange sound creatures and dirt flying around and interacting with a logic all their own.

BORIS
Heavily down tuned guitar/bass tones and exceedingly slow tempos. Despite the unpretentious psychedelic/stoner rock imagery that accompanies much Boris' work, there is an ambitiously experimental aspect to much of it. Their albums, for example, have tended to be massive conceptual projects: "Absolutego", is a feedback-heavy drone exploration consisting of a single 65 minute track; Also on the more experimental end of their discography are collaborations with Japanese avant-garde enigma Keiji Haino and power electronics/noise legend Merzbow.
