over een tijdje.... ik dacht dat het deathfest al over een tijdje was.
Ben iig erg benieuwd naar de dag indeling omdat op de zaterdag in de Goudvishal een gaaf concert is. (ivm combineren evt. van de twee).

Ik zou het ook graag willen weten, dikke kans dat ik vrijdag moet gaan missen. Het risico op een uitverkochte zaal op zaterdag wil ik niet lopen, dus zal ik dan gewoon een weekendticket moeten kopen. Maar niet als alle leuke bands vrijdag spelen dus. Vital Remains wil ik stiekem erg graag zien eigenlijk...

Maarja, dan wacht ik nog 'een tijdje'

Bericht Neurotic Records:

UK is a strict country, as being US citizens without a work permit, but with merchandise on hand, they should have never fly in in UK. Either way, they are on their way back to USA now, should land in a few hours, and from there they are going to get the first available flight to the Netherlands. They have no problem in getting in in the Netherlands. Work permits are not required here to get in.

I will know more in a few hours about their participation on the Neurotic Deathfest, so keep an eye on www.neuroticdeathfest.com. Also, Viral Load will play either way, don't worry about them.

Bericht van Ruud van Neurotic Records:

Devourment didn't have work permits organised apparantly. As a band from outside Europe, with merchandise on hand, entering UK, you need work permits to be let through customs. If you don't have work permits, you have about 75% to get let through either way, but still, you should need them.

Viral Load came through, they are playing, nobody said they wouldn't, so don't, I repeat DON'T start useless rumours here!!

As for Devourment, they should enter the USA again in 2-3 hours from now. From there they will try to get a flight to the Netherlands immediately. The Netherlands is an easy country to get in, you don't need work permits, so they would NOT be denied here. It all depends on if they will find tickets back to Amsterda (or Brussels, or maybe even Paris, or Dusseldorf for that matter) in time.

Small calculation:
- the band is back in US in about 3 hours from now.
- the flight back to mainland Europe takes about 7 hours
- getting to the venue is about 2 more hours
That's 12 hours from now, lets exaggerate that to 15 hours in total.

It's 1:15 in the afternoon now, on Thursday, the band has to play on Friday 9:30 in the evening. That's a total of roughtly 30 hours in total. So they got about 15 hours to wander around on an airport to get a flight to the Netherland. If it works, I don't know yet, I will have more info lateron today.

11-05-2007: Devourment will not be playing Neurotic Deathfest.
Yesterday we've got the word, not from the organiser of the tour, but of a befriended UK promotor, that Devourment was send back to the United States after not having the proper work permit papers. In the world of organising tours in Europe with non-European bands it is common knowledge that when Entering the UK, either by train, boat or airplane, there are work permits needed. What happened this time around is that the tour organiser neglected the fact that proper work permit papers where needed and thus didn't apply for any. Work permits cost £250,- (aound €400,-) so maybe the cost issue was an issue, although this is nothing less than speculation from our side.

Fact was, is, and unfortunately will be, that Devourment has been send back to the United States, first to Chicago, and from there they went back to Dallas. In the meantime the band would search for reasonable flights to not miss any shows on this tour, or at least as little as possible. However, they apparantly found a flight to Frankfurt this Sunday, meaning that their whole Neurotic Deathfest appearance was canceled. After asking about this situation over and over again we finally received a message, around 3:00 AM (14 hours before our festival opens it's doors), stating the aforementioned. Even though all this is completely beyond the control of the organisation of the Neurotic Deathfest, we still like to sincerely apologise for the fact that Devourment will not participate this year. We also like to apologise for the fact that we have failed to find any replacement for Devourment on this short notice. With the aforementioned explanation we hope everybody will understand and accept our situation. Obviously we're still in to have a great time on the Neurotic Deathfest, and we sure hope you are too! We have a truckload of great bands playing, and they deserve all of your undivided support!

Fucking hell, let's make Eindhoven bleed all over this!
