DIMMU BORGIR, NAPALM DEATH, OLD MAN'S CHILD, MORGOTH Members Join Forces In INSIDIOUS - Apr. 30, 2008

The currently unsigned band recently spent time at a studio in Norway recording 12 songs with Terje Andersen (a.k.a. Cyrus) of SUSPERIA in the producer's chair.

The group's vocalist Marc Grewe (ex-MORGOTH) described INSIDIOUS' musical direction as "very, very old-school," adding that "it is the best stuff I have recorded since [MORGOTH's 1991 album] 'Cursed'."

INSIDIOUS is:

Marc "Groo" Grewe (ex-MORGOTH) - Vocals
Sven Atle Kopperud (a.k.a. Silenoz) (DIMMU BORGIR) - Guitar
Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH) - Bass
Tony Laureano (DIMMU BORGIR, ex-NILE, ANGELCORPSE) - Drums
Jon Øyvind Andersen (a.k.a. Jardar) (OLD MAN'S CHILD) - Guitar

INSIDIOUS' debut album is tentatively due before the end of the year.

Dit Insidious disease is wel erg fijn. Zoals verwacht is er weinig nieuws onder de zon maar het klinkt allemaal wel lekker ziek en sadistisch. Het is pure old school death metal die vooral terug grijpt naar de begindagen van Death. Dat is waarschijnlijk ook waarom het nummer Leprosy gecoverd wordt. Niks vernieuwends dus maar het is wel duidelijk dat we hier te maken hebben met een stel zeer goede muzikanten. Elk nummer is voorzien van een zieke drive en heeft ook een duidelijk eigen gezicht. Af en toe steekt er een donker black metal sfeertje (alleen de sfeer, niet de muziek) de kop op. Ik ben vooral fan van de fijne melodieuze gitaarpartijen die af en toe voorbij dwarrelen.
