I've invited Rusty Cooley (an American shredder) to join our forum here. Rusty's shredding is a lot better than his Dutch so I've created a new topic in English.

I guess this will be an extension of the guitar-battle topic, so ask anything you want to know about playing guitar

And please, post in ENGLISH only ok!

well I'm quite curious how he developed his technique. Maybe he can share some practise exercises to perfect some difficult techniques like uhmm.. sweep picking (didn't see that one commin' right? ) and about the chord progressions he uses and why he uses them.

Yes, I've been emailing with him for a while now and at a certain moment I figured it would be very cool if he'd join us.

So I asked him if he would be prepared to do so, and he confirmed I've created a login for him, so he should be able to post messages here.. Maybe we can already post some questions for him?

Posting sweeping exercises would be very usefull, I can't have (and get) enough of 'em

In advance: a rather easy E-major sweeping exercise with tapped notes I made up yesterday. Here it comes:

Sweep above the fretboard, that way you can easely tap the tapped notes (B-17 & E-24) with your middle finger. Good luck!

Damned! Rusty tried to post here but it didn't work, we're trying to figure out what's going wrong..

In the meanwhile I could keep you all busy with some new sweep-exercises? And we could post some questions for Rusty.. Please copy and paste my questions, create a list

-What kind of warming-up exercises do you use?
-Which are your favorite modes

If you mean the pictures under the user name, the you can click on this button located on the top of the screen.

then u must find the entry which says "user icon". There you place the URL (e.g. http://www.rustycooley.com/image.jpg) and that should do the trick.
