For the fans, regarding JC Dwyer
As most of you know, the news of JC's termination from Pro-Pain broke late last week after being submitted to the press by a 3rd party. We immediately confirmed any and all truths, and then promised our fans that in due time we would give them an accurate and honest account of what happened. After taking the necessary few days to "cool down", we are now ready to share with you the details in a scaled down drama free version.
Here's what happened:
As many of you know, all of us in Pro-Pain were involved in a project last
year with Stephan Weidner (from Bohse Onkelz). It turned out to be a great album, and we were all thrilled to have been a part of it. As the project further developed, Stephan began making plans to take his solo project on the road. Those plans would ultimately include JC on drums. On October 24th, the
rest of us were notified by JC that the Weidner tour itinerary would require approximately 5-6 months of JC's time in 2009......which is much longer than anyone in either party had initially discussed or even expected.
Unfortunately, Pro-Pain has never had the luxury to sit idle for 5 or 6 months straight, and we have always kept a very demanding schedule in order to be able to remain a full time band. Plus, by the time that we learned of Stephan's newly adjusted tour schedule, we (along with our booking agents) had already begun taking festival and club offers for the latter part of the very same time frame. So, a scheduling conflict had indeed emerged, and we decided to address it head-on with all parties in hopes that it could be amicably resolved.
When asked whether he was planning to participate in the entire extended Weidner tour schedule regardless of the scheduling conflicts, JC replied: "Yeah, I'm gonna do the tour. I feel it's something I can't pass on". Well that's fair enough, but instead of bowing out of Pro-Pain, JC provided a solution in which Pro-Pain would "work around" his schedule so that he could remain in and reap the benefits of being in both bands simultaneously.
At that time, the bottom line became very clear to us in that JC put the ball in our court and left us with no other choice but to let him go.......and let him go we did. Although we are very disappointed with the entire situation and the way that it was "handled", we choose to take the high road in this matter. Out of sheer kindness and respect, we wish JC nothing but the best. Rest assured, Pro-Pain will come out of this stronger than ever!! Thanks to our fans for their continued support, and we hope to see you all on the road again soon enough!!
We Remain,
Gary, Tom, and Marshall aka Pro-Pain
Now.......on to finding our new drummer!!!!
