Budgie is a Welsh rock band from Cardiff. They are widely considered as one of the first heavy metal bands and a seminal influence to many acts of that scene,[1] with fast, heavy rock (an influence on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and such acts as Metallica)[2] being played as early as 1971[3], preceding other influential bands such as Judas Priest. The band has been noted as "among the heaviest metal of its day"[4]. Notable Budgie songs include "Breadfan", "Crash Course In Brain Surgery", "Parents", "I Turned To Stone" and "Napoleon Bona - Parts 1 & 2".
Metallica - covered "Crash Course In Brain Surgery" and "Breadfan".
