State:Chaos
State:Chaos was founded in the beginning of 2006 by Mischa (guitar) with the intention to make no-nonsense thrash metal that touches everybody. With Martijn (drums), Maurice (bass) and a few months later Remco (vocals) and ex-Callenish Circle member Rocco (guitar) a solid line-up is a fact. Still in 2006 State:Chaos overwhelms the audience for the first time live, and by the end of the year with their MCD “Ashes Of Misery” recorded at the Dutch Toneshed Studios with Mangled producer Erwin Hermsen.
Receiving very promising reviews of both “Ashes Of Misery” and their very energetic and convincing live shows, State:Chaos manages to rise up from the masses in the genre and builds up a solid name doing shows at large outdoor festivals and as support for bands like Impious and Callenish Circle. Creating a seamless connection between old-school Bay-area thrash and the modern melodic Scandinavian thrash/death metal, the band quickly moves from support-act to headliner.
During the recordings of their first full length album “Chaos || Pain || Despair”, State:Chaos signs with the Doomstar booking agency in early 2009. Their debut album, recorded at the PITstudios and mixed by Jochem Jacobs (Textures), shows that State:Chaos has grown into a band to be reckoned with and that they are hungry for more!

The Assault
The idea for ' Assault’ first arose on a small outdoor festival, Urpop, in the year 2000, when Guitarist Bart Alders (Sectarian, Ozzy Ozz) and drummer Ferry Adams (In Memoriam, Retribution) were having a beer together. One beer became many, and the duo decided to start a new band. But since they had their own bands at the time, this plan went on hold. After Sectarian broke up, Bart started a new project together with Rob Besselink, who had played keyboard with Sectarian. This project was to be called: ‘Your Silence’.
Approximately a year after Sectarian broke up, In Memoriam split up as well. Ferry was asked by Bart to join ‘Your Silence’. They worked hard to write new songs, and the band slowly took shape. Eventually, Rob Besselink left the band, and was replaced by Thie Thomsen, who was the former guitar-player and lead singer of In Memoriam. The collaboration between Bart and Thie worked like a charm, giving the music the edge it had lacked.
After writing a few songs, they decided that they really needed a vocalist, and found one with Menno Corbeek (Excavation, Chemical breath) Menno’s voice added even more aggression to the overall sound. This, in combination with the fast riffs and pounding drums, Led the band to change their name from ‘Your Silence’, which was hardly appropriate anymore, to ‘Assault’, which seemed to describe the overall feel of the band’s music.
The only thing missing was an energetic Bass-player. Bart introduced the idea of asking Jeroen Gelissen, his old bass-player from his sectarian days. Jeroen was asked, agreed to join, and ‘Assault’ was complete.
They wrote even more songs, and did a few gigs, which kicked some serious ass! Sometime later, Jeroen decided to quit, due to the fact that he was through playing bass guitar and actually had been that way before he joined Assault, but it seemed a good opportunity to rekindle his love for bass-playing. Nevertheless, we still want to thank Jeroen for playing with us, we had a blast! Cheers mate! Never the ones to quit, the rest decided to go on without a bass-player for the time being. After a,short while , Ferry's brother, André joined the band as bass player. This, although making the band the tallest band of the Netherlands, didn't work out musically. We like to thank André for putting time and effort into 'Assault', and for making it the tallest band on earth (possibly). Thanks man, see you down the road!
Writing more furiously than ever, Assault headed straight on. Now, writing continues, and the guys are preparing to get on stage again, somewhere in the near future. For one of the shows, Assault asked Kevin Firing, guitarplayer of tributeband Ozzy Ozz and former guitarist of Sectarian, to help them out on stage. The show was cancelled but Kevin liked the band and playing metal again that much, he decided to stay. Kevin fits in the band perfectly, so Assault is complete again!! Their music is a mix of old school Thrash, Scandinavian Thrash and melodic death metal. This results in a energetic, melodic thrash/death sound, a force to be reckoned with.
