Some reviews: Sleazenation.be: Talk about the band name covering the lyrical load! Burning Fallus' The Working Class Rock is packed to the brim with blue collar, testosterone-driven heavy metal anthems. After a spoken-word introduction about the office boys bothering the men on the work floor, the title track sets off. It's already abundantly clear in the first few seconds of the song, that Burning Fallus has energy to spare. Especially vocalist TestosteRonny (pun most definitely intended) overflows with vigor. The first track demonstrates that, even though the recording quality could have been better, Burning Fallus is going places. Sausage fests mostly, since the lyrical content doesn't really suit a female audience, but still... Regardless of the somewhat juvenile, penis-centered lyrics, this is fist-pumping music that will speak to many of the metal-oriented concert goers. "6 Blue Pills Of Fire" starts with a Maiden-style intro and bursts open in the first verse. You don't need much information to find out what those 'blue pills' are. Funny stuff! Try to put yourself in the position of a pussy-starved guy with a few beers downed already, and you'll get in the correct mood for "Her Darkest Secret". The ancient chick-with-a-dick routine is told, drenched in an old school riff that beats you senseless. On to the Fallus anthem, "Harder Than Steel". After the delicate intro is ripped to shreds by the chorus, drummer Charly Leatherfetish (what the fuck?) sets the pace for a good 3 minutes of head banging. Perhaps a bit simple, but very effective. The repeated chorus comes along plenty of times, but it's good enough to stay fun. By the time I got to "Burning Fallus" and "Splattering Pussy" (apparently they got mixed up in the song list of the album), I grew a bit tired of the returning lyrical theme, but decided to push on and focus on the songs as a whole instead. Much like the previous tracks, "Splattering Pussy" keeps a steady tempo going, leaving little or no breathing time. Props to the drummer once more, he's the one filling each and every void. "Jack The Stripper" and "Alone" bring nothing new to the table, but are just as good as the rest of the album. To sum things up, I believe there's a lot Burning Fallus can achieve. I'm not sure if they'll get there with this choice of lyrics, which is a bit of a shame since there are some good lyrical twists all through the album. A little more tongue-in-cheek and perhaps a different topic than plain old fucking, and we might have a different story... http://sleazenation.be/cd-reviews/277-b ... class-rock ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heavyhardes.de: Burning Fallus: die belgischen Dimple Minds? Aber Nummern wie der Opener "The Working Class Rock", der mit den Versen beginnt: "Boys and girls, hear my story / it's not about the fame and glory / it's about the working class / it's the kind of people who are kickin' ass" und ansonsten verdächtig nach Turbonegros "Are You ready" klingt, setzen sich im Eiltempo in den Gehörgängen fest. Lustig auch der Rocker mit Iggy and the Stooges-Touch "Jack The Stripper"! (KM) BRONS (4/7) |

Review from metalprovider.net: I’ve always been a fan of politically and socially aware rock and bands that actually have a statement to make, rather than just screaming and shouting. One of these acts is a Belgium-based quartet Burning Fallus. This is not just a band that fucks around; they are bonded with a mission. They stand for a brand-new genre called ‘the working class rock’. They come up for the right of the working class people worldwide and I applaud their enthusiasm. Their latest offering is titled The Working Class Rock containing nine extraordinary songs. The album is packed with testosterone-driven heavy metal/rock anthems. The whole thing kicks-off with a spoken-word introduction and the office boys bothering the men on the work floor. The first self-titled track demonstrates that this band has something on their mind. With song-titles such as “Her Darkest Secret”, “Harder Than Steel”, “Splattering Pussy” and “Burning Fallus” it is obvious what this is all about. My favourite track is the aforementioned “Splattering Pussy” which keeps a steady tempo going and with a lyrical content like this: ‘I was alone with this slut, we were horny as fuck! She wanted to ride me, and my dick was so hard!…’. On the other hand, we have tracks called “Jack The Stripper” and the closing one “Alone”, and both of those bring nothing new to the table. The recording quality could have been a lot better, but when dealing with this kind of a band I believe that the production is not the main focus of their attention. Many songs are funny and politically incorrect making fun of ladies and capitalists. If you’re a pussy-starved guy I’m sure you’ll dig this collection of songs. Meanwhile, fans of Hard Rock & Old School Heavy Metal may enjoy it as well. http://metalprovider.net/burning-fallus-the-working-class-rock |
