Winston Kingdom and Knekelhuisdisco proudly cooperate once again on this second edition of Knekelhuisdisco. This time we will bring you Chelsea Wolfe from Los Angeles, USA, on her first european tour and Winston Kingdom is doing her exclusive NL clubshow.

Chelsea Wolfe is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Inspired by the dark state of the world and the strange connections between all things, she, together with an eponymous full band, creates a unique musical blend of goth-folk, experimental rock and spiritual realm funeral songs. With influences ranging from the great minds of Ingmar Bergman and David Lynch, to the Soviets and end-times literature, her songs conjure visions of other dimensions, claustrophobic echo-rooms and parking garage cathedrals.

Wrap yourself in her thick blanket of beautiful, haunting melodies that embody both light and dark. If you don’t know Chelsea Wolfe yet and love artists like Joni Mitchell, Hank Williams, PJ Harvey and Nick Cave than you should definitely come over. This is music with soul.

Holy Mountain (nl) will warm up this night with an audio visual live performance!

En WOLVON vervangt Holy Mountain.

Although WOLVON is a new name in the scene, in Groningen these three bearded men are no stranger to the game. You could sense a definite buzz building around this band before it even played its first gig. With their debut 7-inch, which was released on Subroutine Records, WOLVON enriched the world with three post-noise tracks, featuring overdriven, angular guitar riffs and laden with reverberant, dissonant vocals. Although a large part of their music is loud, with an in-your-face attitude, they sometimes allow their audience a breather, incorporating tenuous dream-pop-like sequences. In this sense, WOLVON can be enchanting and overwhelming at the same time.
Their first show took place at the legendary club Vera and was one of many to come, as they will be promoting the anticipated release of their first full length, scheduled to arrive somewhere in 2012. WOLVON has lots of love, and is very eager to share.

Mooi.
Maar pratende hipsters op de rustige stukken en het geluid was over het algemeen erg slecht.

Zaterdag ook bij Winston geweest voor Wolves Like Us (Junius als hoofdact, maar dat was niet boeiend) en toen was het geluid ook best slecht. Ik vreesde het al vantevoren, zelfs het correct mixen van de muziek die toen op stond was ze niet gelukt...

Vond het geluid ook matig. Maar een leuke avond al met al. Wolvon was een leuke noisy verrassing.
