Harvey Milk maakt zware en zeer meeslepende rock muziek. De band zet altijd iets bijzonders neer, schakelt muzikaal moeiteloos tussen de aan Melvins schatplichtige basis en de meest onwaarschijnlijke wendingen. De aandachtige luisteraar ontdekt in hun discografie covers van Leonard Cohen en Gustav Holst samples, zonder dat het afleidt of dat de muziek aan rauwe emotie en zeggingskracht inboet. Totaal unieke Band. Uit Groningen hebben we Grinding Halt met leden van Shikari en Suffering Quota. Moddervette hardcore / sludge ala Rorschach en Thou.

Revered and long time running trio Harvey Milk originally hails from Athens, Georgia. The Hydrahead, Troubleman Unlimited, and tUMULt recording artist briefly flirted with Joe Preston (Sunn O))), High On Fire and Melvins) as a fourth member for their penultimate album “Life... the best game in town” (2008) and their previous EU tour. Harvey Milk's music is blessedly uneasy to pinpoint. The band, named after the first openly gay politician elected in a major U.S. city, positively frustrates category and heavy music scene politics in admirable ways. Aside the from the evident classic rock and sludge/doom roots, Harvey Milk proves to be a completely unique band that simultaneously induces slow motion headbanging to excruciatingly sluggish tempos and immersive listening. Without warning, their music can disintegrate into meditative instrumental passages and odd pauses to increase tension. Harvey Milk's captivating music is unencumbered by outside pressures and inscrutable by design.

GRINDING HALT
Next to featuring members of the great Dutch grind/hc merchants Suffering Quota, Grinding Halt also have the former vocalist of Shikari in their ranks. The latter cult band had people dressed up like cardboard/tinfoil robots trashing the first Worm venue back in 2001. We're confident that Grinding Halt's killer hardcore sludge ala Rorschach and Thou will do the trick as well.

JA HOOR. Hoewel ik Harvey Milk op plaat maar matigjes vind.

Was vet.

Alleen jammer dat een moshende crust chick aan de speed mn camera tijdens het filmen uit mn poten tikte. Op de laatste paar seconden zie je de camera nog vliegen in first person. Resultaat: lens en display naar de klote. Super siked.
