VIRUS is the natural successor to Carl “Czral” Michael Eide’s cult avant-garde black metal outfit Ved Buens Ende, which he formed together with Victonik (of DHG/Dødheimsgard) and Skoll (original bass player of Ulver and Arcturus) in the mid nineties. The band released one album, Written In Waters, in 1995, and then faded into obscurity. It would take another 5 years before Czral would rejuvenate his passion for untraditional chords and twisted tonal combinations, letting off huge amounts of steam with more traditional metal acts such as Aura Noir and Infernö in the interim.
