KILLL is the side-project of four active Norwegian musicians; Martin Horntveth (Jaga Jazzist), Espen Hangård (Diskord, NoPlaceToHide), Erlend Mokkelbost (JR Ewing, Montée) and Are Mokkelbost (Single Unit, Arm).
The band formed on request for a concert in 2003 after having talked about joining forces, and made all the music in three days. Since then KILLL has continued to craft songs is the same fashion, favoring the live experience and never going into the studio. The KILLL members have very different musical outputs in the respective bands but funnel their shared high-energy electric-electronic aggression into what have been called Norwegian avant-metal.
There are no amps on stage and the drums are electric, making it possible to connect all the sources into FX units and also creating sudden and blissful - silence.
The last few years KILLL has collaborated closely with light designer Kyrre Heldal Karlsen to extend the live experience, aiming to floor the epileptics in the audience through RGB retinal stimulation.
