BLACKDEATH 'Phobos'

New 2013 album. Blackdeath always had their own unique style and for that reason, remained a hidden gem in the underground. Over the years, their music evolved and new album 'Phobos' is more or less a continuation of the style on 'Katharsis'. So a more and more avantgarde kind of songwriting compared to the old material, yet they are in no way more accessible or less extreme. Even though the production of the album is better than ever, don't expect an overpolished, empty sound. The typical possessed vocal style and strange rhythms and melodies will cause nausea, visions of death and possession of Satan. For almost 20 years, Blackdeath remains to carry the banner of true black metal and stays a typical love it or hate band - only appreciated by the devoted.

BLACKDEATH 'Fanatical'


One more their old stuff was re-released by Heidens Hart. The rehearsal tape 'Fanatical' – previously released only through the impossible to find limited red vinyl by Niessedrion Records back in 2007 and featuring with Blackdeath's first recording after returning to the full line-up – is now available through the label. The tape contains also a bonus track, a rehearsal version of “Der nukleare Wojwode” recorded in 2009.

Die nieuwe plaat is echt heel vet! Geniale riffs, vette produktie, gave zang. De eerste twee platen hebben altijd mijn voorkeur gehad, daartussen vond ik het wat minder worden; alsof de groep op zoek was naar een eigen richting. De laatste is echt weer subliem.

Benieuwd wat ze er live van bakken volgende week. Ik haal mijn regenboog vlag vast uit het vet!!

Waarschijnlijk om dezelfde, waterdichte redenatie die ertoe leidde dat hun concert in dBs een tijdje terug is geannuleerd. Controversieel interview of twee ergens in de vorige eeuw, en dan maakt de topicstarter ook nog eens deel uit van de livebezetting van deze band. 1 + 1 = 14/88 en aan die nazitroep biedt last.fm geen podium. Ja, zoiets vermoed ik ook, maar bijvoorbeeld Satanic Warmaster doet wel nog vrolijk mee. Graveland, Absurd, Veles en Seigneur Voland ook. Der Stürmer en Kristallnacht dan weer niet.
