The first edition of the 'Doomsower Mark presents...' concerts, features:
CAUCHEMAR (CAN)
Cauchemar was founded in 2007 as a collaboration between vocalist Annick Giroux and guitarist François Patry. With the goal of producing eerie, no-frills doomy Heavy Metal, the project eventually turned into a band with the addition of Patrick (ASILE, ex-BASTARDATOR guitarist) on drums. They have released in 2010 the "La Vierge Noire" MLP on American label Nuclear War Now! Productions, toured Canada, Colombia, Chile and Peru. Jo Capitalicide (IRON DOGS, ex-BASTARDATOR) flew over to Europe and joined the band as a live bassist for the Rites Lunaires 20-date European tour in spring 2012. Upon their return to Canada, Andres Arango became permanent bassist and the band released its first full-length "Tenebrario" in June 2013, also on Nuclear War Now! Prods.
AKELEI (NL)
Akelei is a band from the Netherlands, based in the province of North-Brabant. The group is born in the spring of 2006, after a meeting between Misha and Ward. They share ambitions to write emotional and atmospheric music. The first year many ideas are shared and recorded, then worked out into proper songs. The first demo is out in 2008, presenting 4 songs of atmospheric doom metal. A steady line-up comes together in early 2009 and the year is subsequently spent on stage while also writing new songs. Studio recordings for the band’s debut album take place during February and March of 2010. The resulting full-length, entitled ‘De Zwaarte van het Doorstane’, is self-released in the autumn, at the ninth Dutch Doom Days festival. After some line-up changes, the band is currently working to play more gigs starting with this one.
