quote: The father/daughter grindcore duo Sockweb has come to a tragic end. According to reports, Adam "Blackula" Young was found dead in his native Richmond, Indiana after hanging himself. He was just 28. Two months ago, Young was arrested for two counts of intimidation, pointing a firearm, strangulation, four counts of domestic battery, and criminal mischief.
It was alleged that he beat his girlfriend and forced her to shove her head into an oven. The arrest report says that Adam allegedly told his girlfriend that he would "slice her open and play with her intestines." Those allegations were later declared to be untrue, according to this mother. She also said that he was later cleared of all wrongdoing in court and his girlfriend was videotaped to prove she falsified all of the allegations.
He was found dead in his basement after hanging himself, according to his mother. She posted the following message to his fans: "My son Adam Young is dead. He was found this morning by Caroline, hung by the neck in his basement. After we had been there last night until 3 am in the morning while she beat herself in the face and head and she shaved her head and screamed and yelled all while being video taped to show the world that he wasn't abusing her that she was abusing herself. He was found not guilty of the crimes against him if any of you really care. He was innocent and many of you turned your backs on him and believed the lies that were spun by the same person who pushed him to his death. He is no more! His daughter has no father. I have no child. Because he loved someone and tried to help her and he suffered the ultimate price. His life was snuffed out in one swift move. May God show mercy."
However, court records have shown that the case was not dropped at the time of Young's death. Adam Young's girlfriend, adult actress Ryden Armani, posted on her Twitter page a series of tweets condemning Young's mother for putting a false story out there, and saying that the events taped last night were of a self-inflicted panic attack. You can read Armani's side of the story here.
Adam Young, together with his daughter Joanie as lead vocalist, released the Bullies Are Mean EP in late 2013, and their debut full-length Werewolf in 2014. She wrote all the lyrics.
