Mario's Metal Mania Presents a night with only oldschool thrash legends!!!

ONSLAUGHT (UK), ARTILLERY (DK) & HATRIOT (USA)

ONSLAUGHT (UK):
UK thrashers ONSLAUGHT have become one of THE bands that are now synonymous with the brilliance of and endurance of today’s thrash movement and it is to the delight of fans and critics around the world when the band announces the release of a new record… Time once again to prepare, because the band, led by charismatic singer Sy Keeler and powerhouse guitar duo Nige Rockett and Andy Rosser-Davies, lately set the world of thrash on fire again with new album “VI”!! Put simply, if you like your thrash metal ‘Uncompromising’ and with that extra edge, then this is the album for you.
ONSLAUGHT were formed in Bristol, England by Nige Rockett (guitar) & Paul Hill (bass) in 1983 and began life under the influence of second generation hard-core punk, but exploiting a strong love for a more metallic sound they would quickly search out this more defined style and secure a deal to release first album, the dark and anarchic “Power From Hell”. In 1986, with the addition of new vocalist Sy Keeler, the band then signed to Music For Nations and released what has probably become their definitive record of the time, “The Force”. Sad then, that it’s follow up, “In Search Of Sanity” (released on London Records in 1989), would prove, despite being the band’s biggest selling LP of the period, to be the end of this particular journey for the band…
You can’t keep a good beast down though! 14 years later, in 2005, Keeler was back, and the first chord of ONSLAUGHT’s return was let loose….! The band signed a new deal with Candlelight, recording that all-important 4th studio album “Killing Peace” (with Andy Sneap - Exodus, Arch Enemy). The fiery vitriol and all important angst that had dominated the early years returned, and has continued to be all-present during this and the band’s last 2011 album “Sounds Of Violence”, recorded with Jacob Hansen.

ARTILLERY (DK):
Artillery were one of the top technical thrash bands of the eighties, characterized by intense, energetic riffing and the somewhat unique vocals of Flemming Ronsdorf. The band had achieved worldwide acclaim even before their first album, thanks to some well-distributed demos (since repackaged and re-released as Deadly Relics). The first album, Fear Tomorrow, was a slight letdown from those demos due to a substandard production, but the songs were on track. Terror Squad fared better, and is probably their best album overall. The band disbanded in 1991, shortly after the release of the By Inheritance album. They reunited in 1999, and released a comeback album, B.A.C.K., in 2001, with the unique vocals of Ronsdorf and thrash riffing that were trademarks of the band in their prime still intact. Since then they released several new albums; all thrash masterpieces!!

HATRIOT (USA):
Singing on some of the most iconic thrash albums of the 80's, former Exodus singer Steve "Zetro" Souza is a thrash legend. Since his departure from that band back in 2004, he's been involved in a few projects, never too far from the public eye, but Hatriot is his baby, bringing his old-school inspiration to the fore and featuring none other than his two sons as the rhythm section. Bringing on a son to play with the old man isn't unheard of in metal (Kenny Powell of Omen did it once upon a time), but it's still a rarity and kind of nice thing to see. Anyway, if there was any doubt about what musical direction Hatriot might be going, rest assured -- this is Exodus in 2013, frankly sounding more like old-school Exodus than the current version of Exodus themselves, yet not without some nods to more modern songwriting and production values. So, not a complete retro album, but decidedly influenced by his past, Zetro and crew deliver nicely on *Heroes Of Origin".
