ENSLAVED Name Upcoming CD, Split With Drummer - Dec. 30, 2002

Norway's ENSLAVED have set "Below The Lights" as the title of their new full-length opus, due in March through Osmose Productions. The follow-up to last year's "Monumension" will include eight tracks. In other news, the band have parted ways with drummer Dirge Rep, who is said to have left the group in order to focus on ORCUSTUS, his project with Infernus (GORGOROTH, BORKNAGAR, DESEKRATOR), Tormentor (GORGOROTH, DESEKRATOR) and Taipan. He will also handle the drums on the next GAAHLSKAGG album, featuring members of GORGOROTH and TRELLDOM.

ik vond "Monumension", niet echt goed.
Dus ik hoop dat ze ook de oude draad oppakken, maar dat zal waarschijnlijk niet zo zijn.

Ik hoop met je mee. Denk helaas dat het wel nog meer van die monumensium/mardraum saaigheid zal zijn .

Het zal vrijwel zeker saai worden.Roy en Dirge Rep zijn niet voor niks weggegaan bij Enslaved.Zij waren degenen die het meest "metal" waren binnen Enslaved.

Ik vind dat op Eld best aardig drumwerk staat misschien een beetje raar geluid alleen. Uiteindelijk vind ik Trym op Frost ook beter maar slecht is Harald niet.

Harald is zeker geen slechte drummer.Luister maar naar Thundra,de huidige band van Harald met ook ex-Einherjer leden.

ENSLAVED Finalize Track Listing For 'Below The Lights' - Jan. 3, 2003

Norway's ENSLAVED have set Mar. 3 as the release date through Osmose Productions for their new album, "Below The Lights". The follow-up to 2001's "Monumension", "Below The Lights" speaks for itself, but again we are proud to say we have gone further down the road of exploration," according to guitarist Ivar Bjørnson, "And on the other hand it is darker and contains more references to the early days of ENSLAVED in the sense of more ambience and structure to the songs. The progressive and experimental elements are still there, more refined and subtle than ever. You will also find pieces of traditional Northern music, this time more incorporated in the ENSLAVED core material.

"Melodic elements and complex harmonics is also a prominent feature on 'Below The Lights'," Ivar added in his official statement. "After returning from the UK in March this year (02) we all realized that R. Kronheim's days in the band had come to an end. Extremely unhealthy and unsociable habits combined with strong personalities and different musical tastes on both sides made it impossible to continue. But hey! That didn't stop us, and with the added force of lead guitarist A. Isdal, we went on to make 'Below The Lights'. The quality of the arrangements and the level of musicianship should prove that the core of ENSLAVED more than survived the changes.

"The cover art is once again under the brush of Truls Espedahl (who also made the artwork for 'Monumension'). This time the artwork will follow the music and lyrics even closer, and a surreal, dark and magnificent piece of art will meet you in the shops 03.03.03.

"After the finishing of the album, [drummer] Dirge Rep decided to leave the band. The reason is quite simple he is burned out according to himself. No point in arguing with that. Goodbye and thanx for the drumwork, brother-in-arms! We have a replacement for live and studio sessions in Freddy B., the drummer some of you might remember from the UK tour in March 2002 when Dirge sat at home with a broken foot!"

We zullen het wel weer zien wat het wordt. Hoe hard ik ook hoop dat het weer goed wordt toch vrees ik dat het weer een slappe hap wordt. Hetzelfde geldt voor het artwork dat was de afgelopen twee cd's ook al totaal niks

En intussen gaan al die wankers 'extreme black metal projectjes' beginnen om met hun hoofdband verder te rukken op het pad van contextloze experimenteerdrift. 'Hey man, we moeten eens wat drum'nbass met gothiczangeres in onze black metal grindcore song doen, want dat heeft nog niemand gedaan'. Ja, man.

hmm, die darkwave invloeden en drumm en bass invloeden zijn niet zo leuk voor in de metal.

Maar er is toch een band die klinkt zoals de oude enslaved?
Frostmoon toch?

Ik zou niet zeggen dat Frostmoon klinkt zoals oude Enslaved.Heb zelf beide 7"EP's en hun cd maar hoor toch geen Enslaved terug.Zal Frostmoon wel weer eens effe gaan draaien(kijken hoe ze wel klinken ).

Heb vanmiddag de DVD gekocht(Live Retaliation)! Maar dat is toch wel echt een dondersgave DVD! Ik weet niet of er hier al mensen zijn, die 'm gezien hebben. Er worden zowel oude als nieuwe nummers gespeeld. Ook zit er nog wat extra audio bij op gedrukt, en nog veel meer extra's

Ja ik heb 'm ook al een tijdje.
Is zeker een gave DVD!
Een goed optreden met zowel splinternieuwe (As Fire Swept Clean The Earth) als stokoude nummers (Slaget I Skogen Bortenfor ).

hupsakee, een van de allerallerbeste bands vand wereld en mateloos ondergewaardeerd weer eens effe onder de aandacht brengen.
Ik vind de band niks minder dan geniaal. Iedere cd is weer (wat) anders en dat terwijl ze geen enkele slechte cd hebben uitgebracht. Ik snap ook niet dat velen zo bijv. een morbid angel vereren (en die allerlei bovenaardse kwaliteiten worden toegeschreven terwijl de band maar een of twee echte meesterwerken heeft uitgebracht) terwijl Enslaved dit allemaal WEL waarmaakt en amper enig aandacht krijgt.

ENSLAVED Members Comment On New Album - Feb. 8, 2006

Norwegian extreme metallers ENSLAVED are putting the finishing touches on their new album, "Ruun", tentatively due on May 8 via Tabu. The following comments about the upcoming CD from each of the bandmembers were posted on the group's official web site:

Ivar Bjornson (guitar): "Me and Grutle has worked out a concept I feel is related to both the 'old' ENSLAVED sphere and our new universe; tradition and heresy, logic and metaphysics — side by side. The material is strong willed and seems to live a life of its own; it is out of our hands at this point. It is my hope and belief that old and new listeners will enjoy the album. I know we will. We are very grateful for working with Johnny Skalleberg during recording, Mike Hartung in the mix and for being backed and followed up by Roffe and Tabu Recordings every step of the way."

Herbrand Larsen (keyboards, vocals): "'Ruun' is more extreme in all aspects; sound wise, the riffs, the melodies, harmonies and disharmonies. 'Ruun' is all that and more!"

Grutle Kjellson (vocals, bass): "'Ruun' contains the most successful and efficient lyrics seen in ENSLAVED ever. The concept is more developing and interesting. We spent a lot time pre producing vocal arrangement, which has resulted in a perfect integration with the sound landscape. Every instrument and voice has founds its own orbit within the sound. However, should you not be into newer ENSLAVED, feel free to put 'Frost' once again."

Arve Isdal (guitar): "This is by far the best ENSLAVED record to date. The production is more powerful than before. We have put more effort into the recording sessions, and this shows. Some new instruments and techniques have been used, which gives this record a more colorful sound."

Cato Bekkevold (drums): "The recording was sooo smooth, and I must say thanx to Johnny for his work! And this time I also did some pre-prod in Portugal with my old pal from RE:AKTOR, NexionD which was very helpful for all of us. Ivar's gift as a songwriter never stops surprising me, and it's a privilege to play in such a great band. Musically, we don't break rules, just invent new ones. We didn't have to rush anything during any process, so I'm confident about this one!"

The recordings for the follow-up to the band's Norwegian Grammy- and Alarm award-winning album "Isa" (2004) began in early January at Amper Studio in Oslo, Norway. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Path of Vanir" and "Essence", both of which the band are planning on shooting videos for.

ENSLAVED will be teaming up with KHOLD and VREID for a European tour in the fall. More information will be made available soon.

hoeveel cd's verkopen ze?? hoeveel artikelen zijn er van deze band verschenen in de Nederlandse metalpers?? etc etc. Ik snap ook eigenlijk niet goed wat je nu bedoelt.
Het is toch prettiger als er eens wat getypt wordt in plaats van zo een duffe smily alleen!! dan kan ik ten minste specifieker reageren.
