September 03, 2003 - Canadian rock trio Rush will issue its first live DVD, Rush In Rio, along with an accompanying triple-disc live CD from the same show, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in October, 2002.

The tour, the band's first in five years, culminated with the band's first performance in Rio before a crowd of 60,000 fans at an outdoor arena. The DVD was filmed with a 22-camera setup and will be presented in 16x9 widescreen video and in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

The two-disc set will carry a suggest retail price of $29.98. Pricing for the live CD has not been set as yet.

In addition to the concert, the DVD will include a documentary by longtime Rush photographer Andrew MacNaughtan that includes interviews with the band members as well as rehearsal and backstage footage, multi-angle viewing for the instrumentals La Villa Strangiato and YYZ and Easter Eggs, including a 1975 performance.

The DVD has been delayed a few times, but that's to coordinate a theatrical release of the DVD footage by Regal Cinemas. The concert will be shown in in more than 30 major markets around the U.S., and probably Canada, too. The theatrical release will coincide with the DVD release. A complete list of cities and theaters will be announced later this month.

Die cover is zowaar nog erger dan de cover van het nieuwe Iron Maiden album.

ja, ik verbaasde me ook over die cover... beetje niet echt rush achtig...

er staat onder Closer to the Heart, echter het nummer dat ze spelen is Freewill ... wie is het nog meer opgevallen?

We are pleased to announce the follow-up to 2003’s internationally successful and top selling RUSH DVD “RUSH in Rio”, with “RUSH - R30” – 30th Anniversary World tour live in-concert DVD. U.S. and Canada’s release date is set for November 22nd and the UK and European release date is November 28th.

The DVD celebrates the 30th Anniversary World Tour. The concert was filmed with 14 hi-definition cameras in 16x9 widescreen format at the Festhalle, Frankfurt Germany on September 24, 2004.

The DVD will be released in two different packs. The 2 DVD Package will include the Frankfurt concert on disc one (mixed in dts and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound); while the second DVD disc will include rare and classic performance footage from the late seventies to the Tsunami relief benefit concert in 2005 along with interview footage culled from the last three decades. The Deluxe Edition will include two CDs in addition to the aforementioned two DVD discs. The two bonus CDs feature the soundtrack from the Frankfurt concert DVD (CDs will not be sold separately). The Deluxe Edition will also include two limited edition RUSH guitar picks and a souvenir backstage pass.

The audio only version will be available via Anthem/Atlantic Records on all digital download services.
