quote: Curse of the Golden Vampire is currently Justin Broadrick and Kevin Martin. Broadrick was a founding member of seminal thrashers Napalm Death. After leaving the band, he became a member of Head of David before forming, then eventually disbanding, brooding industrialists Godflesh. At the moment he is a member of Techno Animal (alongside Martin) and records under a variety of different names through a number of genres. He has remixed artists as diverse as Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Isis and the Lemonheads.
Kevin Martin is also a bit of a legend of noise-core. He founded and then disbanded God, but not before working with John Zorn, Bill Laswell and AMM. He was once a member of EAR alongside Sonic Boom of Spaceman 3 and Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine. He also founded the Pathological label, which released albums by Lydia Lunch, Casper/Peter Brotzmann, Zeni Geva and Oxbow. Aside from Curse of the Golden Vampire and Techno Animal, his current projects include a ragga/dub project called The Bug and remixing DJ Vadim, Adrian Sherwood and Will Oldham.
Broadrick and Martin met when God and Godflesh toured together. Their shared tastes for musical extremes, abusing electronics and a shared history of being baptised by anarcho punk, led them to form Techno Animal. When T.A. were touring with Alec Empire they collectively gave birth to Curse of the Golden Vampire. The threesome released a self-titled album on Empire's Digital Hardcore Recordings in 1998. Broadrick and Martin decided to go it alone and the second COTGV album was recorded. It will be released on Ipecac, a label part owned by long term admirer Mike Patton.
Ik ben er zeer van onder de indruk. Erg wazige en gestoorde muziek. Zal vast niet veel mensen aanspreken...maar ik vind het geweldig. Iemand?
