Vanaf 24 September ligt Samurai Princess (van het team achter Tokyo Gore Police en Machine Girl) hier in de videotheken. Het belooft weer een grandioos bloedbad te worden. Ik had ook niets anders verwachtt. Veel Aziatische en Euro films (behalve Franse horror om de een of andere reden) krijgen wij tegenwoordig veel eerder dan de Amerikanen, deze Samurai Princess nu dus ook. Heb ik ook veel liever dan al die Amerikaanse remakes en tiener "horrors". Rec is pas net een maandje uit daar bijvoorbeeld.

Jumping the shark is a colloquialism coined by Jon Hein and used by TV critics and fans to denote the point in a television program's or film series's history where the plot veers off into absurd story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations. This usually corresponds to the point where a show with falling ratings apparently becomes more desperate to draw in viewers. In the process of undergoing these changes, the TV or movie series loses its original appeal. Shows that have "jumped the shark" are typically deemed to have passed their peak.

Ik hoop dat die lui wat positievers probeerden te zegggen maar daar de verkeerde term voor gebruikt hebben. Persoonlijk kon ik me al moeilijk voorstellen hoe ze hier een goede sequel van konden maken. De optie "dingen radicaal omgooien" hoort daar natuurlijk bij, maar daar zag ik al Blair-Witch-Project-achtige taferelen voor me Dat wordt alleen versterkt door dit soort opmerkingen.

Dan blijft het nog steeds stevige kritiek

District 9 kijk ik ook heel erg naar uit.
zal voor mij ook de reden worden om weer eens naar de bios te gaan en heerlijk overgeweldigd te worden door het spektakel

Lost is bedoeld om te veer off into absurd story lines vanaf episode 1, jumping the shark zou bij Lost betekenen dat het verhaal logisch wordt

Zit nu in Seizoen 3 van Lost, vraag me af hoe ze dit ooit nog recht gaan breien.

Trick 'r Treat ligt al jaren op de plank. Hopelijk komt de film hier ook snel uit.

Bij die District 9 link is nu een derde "age restricted" clipje toegevoegd. District 9 is inderdaad geen horror pur sang, maar de film schijnt erg veel geweldadige scenes te bevatten... en (sympathieke?) ruimtemonsters natuurlijk.

Ik vind die trailer voor Survival of the Dead er maar magertjes uitzien. Diary of the Dead maakte hier ook al weinig indruk. Het was heus geen slechte film maar van Romero verwacht ik betere films te zien. De "Masters of Horror" lijken op hun retour te zijn, helaas. De nieuwe Argento schijnt ook weer een draak van een film te zijn namelijk.

ja klopt, iets met Saw ben juist blij dat die nu wel op release komt, zij het op wat festivalletjes maar wel op dvd in october!


Met Romero kom ik altijd wel een heel eind.
Land of the dead (ext) erg blij mee, Diary mocht ik ook graag zien en de nieuwste kijk ik persoonlijk ook echt naar uit.

en ik denk als Romero-addict dat een persoon wat meer kan hebben dan bijv een Romero-purist.

Ik vond land redelijk, maar diary ondermaats. Op de één of andere manier krijgt romero het niet meer voor elkaar om dat zelfde sfeertje als weleer neer te zetten, jammer is dat. Toch ben ik erg benieuwd naar die nieuwe. Gewoon omdat romero toch de beste zombiefilms op de wereld heeft los gelaten.

Kan iemand me helpen. Ik zit met een scene van een film in m'n hoofd, maar ik kom er maar niet op welke film het is, volgens mij een oude italiaanse en om nou alle films in die strekking terug te gaan zitten te kijken...

Camera is gericht op de grond, heel, heel, heeeeeeeel langzaam komt er een zombie te voorschijn uit het zand, volgens mij met maden in de ogen enzo. En als ik langzaam zeg, dan bedoel ik ook langzaam. Iemand een idee?
