"Of Empires Forlorn" is echt een geniale plaat die mij nooit gaat vervelen. Staat ook een geweldige vertolking op van Jane's "Voice in the Wind". Het debuutalbum vind ik trouwens ook erg goed.

Changing plans
Greetings once again to all of our friends, fans, and colleagues...

After a lengthy hiatus, rehearsals have been both inspiring and extremely productive - a great deal of progress has been made on the arrangement of the previously announced brand new single, and this in turn has resulted in a surge in activity; while we will continue working on this epic for a release as soon as possible, the events which spawned the piece to begin with truly opened the floodgates - thus, the lyrics and melodies for the entire Vast Oceans Lachrymose album have now been completed, so being that the recording has been sitting in a "nearly finished" state for a couple years now, and many of you have been waiting very patiently (and some not so much), it has been decided that we will focus our efforts upon the completion of the album first, to be followed be said single shortly thereafter.

More news to come soon...

Greetings to all of you once again...

I'm very proud to announce that as of yesterday, September 28th, 2009 the "Vast Oceans Lachrymose" album has been completed...after 5 tumultous years...approximately 14 years after it was first discussed (albeit with a different tracklist)...anyway, the bottom line is...it is DONE.

There's no doubt we could've continued working on it, but perhaps the details and minutia that would be affected are ultimately irrelevant to anyone outside of the band and our engineer Chris Salamone. Further, we literally worked up to the very last possible minute given the time necessary to manufacture and ship in time for the release dates.

Speaking of those, for the compact disc edition, they are as follows:

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 - North America
Friday, November 6th, 2009 - Europe

The album is (and has been) available for pre-order through several retail outlets, and will be available through most major stores. I am sure there will be a plethora of online retailers as well, including Cruz Del Sur Music directly.

We will also be making the album and various tracks available electronically via all the existing options, and more details will be made available regarding that soon.

Additionally, a 180gm audiophile LP version (in a stellar gatefold sleeve) will be released via Maniacal Records in a limited edition of 500 copies. The actual release date of this will be determined after we've had the chance to listen to the test pressings and insure all is well. Expect it before the end of the year however.

Coming up next will be massive website updates, information about merchandise, and upcoming shows in support of the album.

**Media and press people - If you have procured any other version of the album prior to September 30th, 2009 - you do NOT have the final production master, rather an initial master we assembled specifically for you, however, if you are on the CDSM promo list and would like an advance copy of the final album electronically, please contact me directly, and I'll sort something out. Many of you WILL receive a finished copy of the album as well once it is available**

New samples from the entire album will be streamed in various locations VERY soon, and I will post another update notifying you of when that transpires.

Thanks again to everyone who has waited so patiently for this album...I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is to be done...I sacrificed so many things over the last 5 years and most recently my physical and emotional health in order to complete this on time...your comments are certainly welcome and encouraged...but please understand that I am desperately in need of sleep and I'm also dealing with a case of postpartum depression, so if I don't respond instantly to you, just give me a week or so to catch up on everything that I need to.

Mooi!

Ik heb hem, ik heb hem!! Wat een geweldig album is het geworden. De nieuwe zanger zingt geweldig! En hij kan het live ook waarmaken Al heeft hij hier wat technische problemen.



Prachtig artwork is het ook weer geworden.

Deze plaat gaat hoog in mijn jaarlijst eindigen!!!

Is idd een erg fijn plaatje, goede productie, lekkere stevige nummers, fijne zang. Mocht ik een jaarlijstje maken staat deze er zekers in

nou ik vond de 1e luisterbeurt maar niks, ik heb em gedownload dacht eerst even dat ik een andere band (gerenamed) had gedownload..het neigt op sommige momenten wel erg naar happy power metal, ik verwachtte eigenlijk zware doom ?.. goed. de title track is te pruimen, daar zit geen zang in haha. Maar ik wil niet te snel oordelen, eerdere albums vind ik wel erg goed, binnenkort poging 2 danmaar.

Fantastische coverart, alleen jammer van het bootje.

De kunstenaar is een zekere John Martin en inmiddels dood (1789 - 1854)

Ik heb de cd en elpee.
De elpee versie is superieur al was het alleen al om de verpakking aangezien deze gestoken is in een prachtige uitklapbare hoes.
Deze is gelimiteerd tot 500 stuks.

Ik had de elpee hier vandaan http://www.hho-records.de/start.htm

Er komt een tweede persing maar deze wordt dan uitgebracht als een dubbel elpee.
Beetje overbodig als je het mij vraagt, want de plaat duurt niet zo lang.

Gisteren mailtje gehad dat mijn plaat verstuurd is. Ben zeer benieuwd!

Ik kan helaas echt helemaal niets met de stem van de nieuwe zanger... erg jammer.

Zelf vind ik de vocals er wel op vooruitgegaan.
Nieuwe zanger is 'n pak beter dan Tom zelf.
Ieder z'n mening dus..
Mocht ik 'n jaarlijstje opstellen, deze Vast Oceans Lachrymose zit er zeker bij!

Mezelf een paar dagen opgesloten met deze plaat, heel vaak naar Vast Ocean Lacrimose geluisterd en hun voorgaande werk overboord gekieperd... Was wel lastig omdat WHW hun muzikale paden wel heel erg veranderd zijn. Maar het kwartje is gevallen en de plaat is eigenlijk zelfs imo. beter dan voorgaand werk. Spannende composities en de zang is gewoon heel erg wennen na het geluid van Tom, aangezien ik die zanger steeds in verband bracht met zijn voorgaande band (Altura die een waanzinnige prog/metal plaat in de jaren negentig op Roadrunner uitgebracht hebben).

Kortom blij dat ik ben blijven luisteren want dit is een dijk van een album.

Blijft idd 'n geweldige band!
En de vinylreleases idd erg aangenaam!!

Erg fijn dat ook "Sorrow of the Angels" opnieuw is uitgebracht. De nieuwe heb ik inmiddels ook in huis en die is tevens fantastisch. Wel een tikkeltje anders dan het vorige werk.

hmm ik mmoet die laatste misschien toch maar eens checken... hoewel ik denk ik die teksten van Tom vast beter vond...

Ik kan nu zeggen dat ik helaas niet de inval drummer van WHW zal zijn in december aangezien die tour niet doorgaat. Heel jammer, had graag 2,5 weken met ze op pad willen gaan.

Verder krijg ik eerdaags hopelijk de live plaat en de 7" binnen.

Ah jammer man... hmm what can i say more?
