Maar idd , toen the world downfall uitkwam noemden we dat grindcore , maar als ik het nu terug luister ervaar ik het meer als oldscool deathmetal "& moddervet ook"!

Helemaal mee eens. Napalm Death is vanaf Harmony Corruption "gewoon" death metal. Het verhaal gaat dat ze naar Morrissound zijn gestapt, omdat ze Deaths' Leprosy zo'n vette productie vonden. Op youtube staat nog wel een filmpje met Shane, Jesse en Scott Burns in de auto van laatstgenoemde om de mix van het album te luisteren.
Terroriser net zo'n verhaal. Eén van de platen die ternauwernood mijn top 10 niet haalde (samen met False van Gorefest).
Hoe enger je de criteria maakt die bepalen wat death metal is, hoe meer geweldige bands buitenbord vallen. Lijkt mij niet de bedoeling.
Wie gaat er trouwens Darkthrone's Soulside Journey in zijn top zetten? Kijken of we dan weer zo'n discussie krijgen. als met Napalm en Terroriser.

Soulside Journey is de beste death metal plaat ooit gemaakt door een black metal band!

Ik had het inderdaad over From enslavement en Scum, wat ik toch wel echte grindcore vind. Maar Nasum vind ik weer geen death metal. En hoe zit het b.v. met Extreme Noise Terror, zit toch ook in dat straatje? En waar valt crust als Wolfpack of Driller Killer onder?
