Beste nieuwkomer:
Veel debuutplaten die het tot de jaarlijst hebben geschopt: Amber Arcades, Qrixkuor, Hexenslaught, etc. Moeilijk om een keuze te maken.

Grootste misser dit jaar:
De hele trend om de productie van albums zoveel mogelijk op de poetsen, is het hoogtepunt nog niet nabij. Daarnaast lijken veel bands zo veel mogelijk hun best te doen om de muziek met behulp van de productie te verzieken, zij het óf door oppoetsen, óf door het maar op z'n beloop te laten. Fuck dat, dus.

Beste optreden:
Veel gezien, met veel mooie optredens op Roadburn. Blasphemy tijdens Netherlands Deathfest was echter de topper dit jaar.
