offtopic: ik heb onlangs van soothsayer (via hun bandsite) hun eerste demo op cd aangeschaft. ken je die? superdemo!!

Surrender or Die en Fuck of Death zijn bootlegs.
Rechtstreeks vanaf tapetraders tapes naar c.d. gezet.
Er zijn wel nog een hoop liveopnames van Slaughter in The Larry,s Hideway in 1984 en 1985.
En nog een paar van 1987 als support van Kreator.
Soothsayer, prima band, prima demo en plaat Have a good Time, Quebec-live 26-4-1986.

Volgens mijn mening kun je 'em alleen al voor de liveopnames in huis halen. Ik had alleen wat optredens op tape uit m'n tapetraderstijd, maar die halen het qua geluid niet bij deze cd's.

Ik vind ze iig te gek en het ziet er allemaal ook nog eens erg mooi uit!

Fatal judgement (onuitgebrachte plaat) is ook erg tof, vooral de "bekende" numers zoals nocturnal hell en the curse.

with sad and heavy hearts we truly have terrible news to share....long time SLAUGHTER/STRAPPADO drummer BRIAN LOURIE has passed away at the very young age of 39....in the early hours of thursday oct 2 BRIAN suffered a major heart attack and sadly passed away.Autopsy results showed that he had an enlarged heart which caused this terrible tragedy.BRIAN was a huge part of SLAUGHTER/STRAPPADO!! Great drumming and song writing skills,as well as being one of the funniest guys we have ever met.BRIAN lived life to the fullest....he worked hard and partied hard!!! There was no halfway point...it was all or nothing and he always chose to dive head first into the shallow end of the pool.It has only been a few days but he is already greatly missed by family,friends and of course bandmates which me,Terry,Mike,Bobby,Nick were all of the above.we will miss him deeply.....we love you bro...we will jam again one day.

SLAUGHTER's 'Strappado' To Be Reissued On Vinyl - Sep. 23, 2011

The vinyl reissue of "Strappado", the debut album from Canadian death/thrash metal pioneers SLAUGHTER, will be made available through the Canadian vinyl label War On Music Records.

"Strappado" is an essential classic and cult masterpiece of Canadian metal, long out of print. SLAUGHTER famously included Chuck Shuldiner on guitar for a brief moment in the mid-'80s before Shuldiner resumed his frontman duties in DEATH.

The War On Music release of "Strappado" will be the first-ever vinyl pressing using the remixed/remastered 1986 Fringe audio, and features tree additional tracks not included on the original LP.

Jajaja, dat is ook zo.

Wel een beetje raar dat dat concert niet op die box staat. Vind ik dan.

Of los uitbrengen voor de mensen die al alles hebben.

Ach ja. Ik ging er een beetje van uit dat als een band, die al tig jaar niet meer bestaat, een box uitbrengt, dat dan daar wel alles op zou staan. Best wel een belangrijk optreden voor ze geweest, lijkt me. Met frost en voivod, dacht ik.

Of zou het juist gewoon niet zo'n best optreden van ze geweest zijn, hehe.
