FLOODGATE back in effect New Orleans' FLOODGATE, featuring EXHORDER frontman Kyle Thomas, will resurface after a two-and-a-half-year period of dormancy to perform a headlining set at Zeppelin's in Metairie, Louisiana on Saturday, June 22nd. "Joining the band on drums will be EXHORDER's Chris Nail, who also was once the manager of FLOODGATE, and without whom we would not have gotten the [1996] SEPULTURA Roots tour, even though Roadrunner Records tried to keep us off of it," states Thomas. "For those EXHORDER fans that also enjoy FLOODGATE, new merchandise will be available. For those that do not, stop pouting, because EXHORDER is unfortunately no closer to having finished material than when we did the reunion shows. I wish I could tell ya otherwise. Looking forward to the show, hope to see you, and we will not disappoint..." The quality of our perceptions determines the quality of our judgement. quote: He??? exodus is toch ook weer actief? zit hij dan in twee bands?

Too Much Of Your Lippstikk Is Too Much On My Dippstikk |

Bay Area Trash... Ah, those were the days... |

VIO-LENCE To Issue New CD Through Label Of Former EXODUS Manager - Sep. 23, 2002 Reunited San Francisco Bay Area thrashers VIO-LENCE will likely issue their next studio album through a new label entity formed by former EXODUS manager Toni Isabella and one-time Capitol Records A&R executive Rachel Matthews (who signed EXODUS and RIGOR MORTIS to the label back in the late '80s), guitarist Phil Demmel has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. Demmel and vocalist Sean Killian plan to spend the next several months penning the material for the as-yet-untitled record, which will feature a musical direction along the lines of the group's acclaimed 1988 debut, Eternal Nightmare. Also planned for release through the same label are a live CD and DVD from the group, recorded last December 14th at Slim's in San Francisco, as well as a reissue of Eternal Nightmare, featuring bonus cuts not found on the original version |

08.10.2002 A Benefit Concert For JAMES MUPRHY Check out this Link: http://www.deathfest.homestead.com/ James Murphy (ex-TESTAMENT, DEATH, OBITUARY, CANCER, more) was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor last August 2001 & underwent emergency life saving surgery in Sept. 2001 (just about 2-1/2 months before Chuck Schuldiner of DEATH passed away from his brain tumor). The surgeons were only able to remove about 70% of James' tumor, because it wraps around the optic nerve. So he lives with the remaining 30%, and has to take many Rx's for the rest of his life. One, which he takes five times a day, is meant to possibly help shrink the remaining tumor. He has taken it for a year now & recently had another MRI. The doctors informed him that it has not shrunk. He is scheduled for another MRI in less than 9 months. We, his fans from around the world, hope he doesn't have to go through radiation treatments, but he may face that one day. Because of the tumor's effects, James lost his home, his recording studio, his equipment, his collections, his band gear, and much more. He is not even able to drive anymore. He has no insurance and no income. I have worked my hardest for five months so far, setting up & organizing a huge benefit fest, called Xtreme Benefest, to help raise medical funds for James Murphy. Xtreme Benefest will be held on Friday & Saturday, November 15 & 16, 2002 (only about 38 days away from now). It will take place at the Royal Oak Theatre, 318 West 4th St., Royal Oak, Michigan. Tickets are on sale now, and available directly through Xtreme Benefest or thru Ticketmaster. 30 bands are scheduled to perform during this two-day event. Many making history, having surprises in store for everyone, etc. There will also be some nightly raffles too. I even have James Murphy taking the stage for the very first time since surgery! Former TESTAMENT/DEATH Guitarist Offers Preview Of Upcoming Solo CD - Nov. 24, 2002 Former TESTAMENT/DEATH guitarist James Murphy has released a 35-second clip of him playing a lead over a guitar riff, to be used towards the axeman's next solo CD, which is unlikely to surface before 2004 at the earliest. "I made this by sequencing a short drum loop with my Kurzweil K2000VXs, which I then recorded digitally through my old (and thankfully recovered from its previous theft) TC Electronic Finalizer, directly into my old PowerMac 9600/Pro Tools rig (one of the few other recovered items)," Murphy explained. "Then I overdubbed two rhythm parts from a Line6 POD Pro, once again digitally through the Finalizer, and then added the lead and harmony parts and finally some synth texture from the Kurzweil. "The low quality MP3 format I have to use here for emailing purposes butchers the sound a bit, but it was just a super quickie demo anyway. I hope you can make everything out. "This is just my way to let everyone know that I am back to playing and writing music and a way to show my gratitude for all the help and support I have received from all of you over the last year. "Check out some more of my new stuff: I played two solos on the new MALEVOLENT CREATION CD 'The Will To Kill', out now on Arctic Music and Nuclear Blast, three on the upcoming SUMMON CD '...And The Blood Runs Black' on Moribund Records, and I have already recorded a few solos for the next two TRANSMETAL CDs (these guys are the death metal kings of Mexico)." The quality of our perceptions determines the quality of our judgement. Our judgement determines how we interact with the world. How we interact with the world changes the world. So, the quality of our perceptions changes the world. |
