NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS Members To Guest On JAMES MURPHY's DEATH Tribute Album - Mar. 31, 2005

NAPALM DEATH bassist Shane Embury has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Me and Barney [Greenway, NAPALM DEATH singer] went down to Andy Sneap's studio in Derbyshire Easter Monday to record some guest bass and vocals on James Murphy's DEATH tribute album. Driven there by our trusty friend Mole, we met up with a few old friends you may have heard of. Namely Bill Steer, Ken Owen and Jeff Walker from CARCASS. Barney recorded vocals to 'Baptized in Blood' and I recorded the bass for the track 'Pull the Plug' which also featured Bill on guitar! That track is the first recording me and Bill have done together since 1989's 'Mentally Murdered' EP. Needless to say, it was a fun day catching up and a total blast from the past. Check out the picture and more news soon."

(Swansong vind ik trouwens ook ok, maar minder)

Carcass heerschtte behoorlijk, maar de koek was gewoon op bij die gasten. Ze maakten altijd zo'n gigantische sprong voorwaarts met elk album dat ze nu alleen nog maar terug zouden kunnen gaan. Carcass heerschtte, maar ik vind het verstandig dat ze er een punt achter hebben gezet.

Inderdaad, aan al het goede komt een eind...Ik hoop trouwens niet dat Barney die zangpartij verneukt van Baptized, maar vrees het ergste....

Zo, en weer terug naar Death.
Deze heersende band verdient het om in de active topics mee te draaien .

OVerigens, heeft iemand ooit 1 van de clips (Lack of Comprehension of The Philosopher) ooit op MtV/Tmf langs zien komen? Vroeger kwam er op "wet&wild" iig wel vaak die Spirit Crusher clip langs van live in eindhoven.

Zijn er overigens drummers in Nederland die het drumwerk van de latere platen (vanaf Human) kunnen naspelen?

Ja, ooit had je na Headbangers Ball een kwartiertje 'the pitt' ofzo, en daar heb ik Lack of Comprehension voorbij zien komen. Er werden toen ook clips van Venom en van Celtic Frost uitgezonden (later nog van iemand gehoord dat ie in z'n broek heeft gepist van het lachen bij het zien van die CF clip )

Koos van der Velde(speelde vroeger in Cone) heeft mij verteld dat hij latere Death wel kon drummen.

Death-Tribute - unforgotten past

dit schijnt een tribute te zijn door Chinese (!) metalbands...

Dit stond op Blabbermouth gisteren. Ik vind het ronduit beschamend. Zielig gewoon. Die gasten van Hammerheart/Karmageddon zijn wat mij betreft gewoon lijkenpikkers. OK, ze doen blijkbaar niks illegaals, maar dat maakt niet meteen iets goed. Het is een publiek geheim dat Chuck platenmaatschappijen haatte en ik kan me voorstellen dat dergelijke praktijken daar de reden voor waren. Iemands laatste wil naast je neerleggen voor een paar duizend dollars. Lijkenpikkers!!!!!!!


Label: Late DEATH Mainman's Family Was Ordered To Hand Over CONTROL DENIED Master Tapes - Aug. 19, 2005

Guido Heijnens, owner of the now-defunct Dutch record label Hammerheart Records (which has since been "resurrected" under the Karmageddon Media banner) has issued the following statement regarding the status of the unfinished recordings originally slated to appear on the sophomore CONTROL DENIED album (the band formed by the late DEATH mainman Chuck Schuldiner):

"Judgement by default was done on June 22nd 2005. The Schuldiner family have been ordered to hand over all the master tapes for the new CONTROL DENIED album. Failing to do so the Schuldiner family will have to pay a penalty of $**** for each day up to a maximum of $******. The Schuldiner family have also been ordered to repay $***** plus statory interest and legal costs.

"Finally, the Schuldiner family has been ordered to carry out rectification by publishing on the Internet site the text specified in the judgment, failing to do so will lead to a penalty of $**** for each day up to a maximum of $******.

"All $-related numbers have been left out since these are business related matters.

"For anyone who does not understand what this means: Hammerheart Records B.V. have done nothing wrong and the court has ruled in all matters/subjects in their favour. The family has to pay all costs, rectify the things said on www.emptywords.org, pay back all costs plus interest and hand over the master tapes for the album!!!

"So to all the fans out there, let's see if Hammerheart Records finally will get this album to release it, or if the family remains stubborn and keeps on lying to the fans…"

As previously reported, Chuck — who passed away in December 2001 after a battle with pontine glioma, a rare type of brain tumor — began work on the album (tentatively titled "When Machine and Man Collide") in 2001 but never managed to complete the effort before his health quickly deteriorated in the months leading up to his tragic death. The remaining members of the group — bassist Steve DiGiorgio, vocalist Tim Aymar, guitarist Shannon Hamm, and drummer Richard Christy — subsequently announced their desire to complete the CD and release it in Chuck's memory, but legal hassles between Schuldiner's family and Hammerheart Records (to whom Chuck was signed at the time of his death) put the entire project on hold (Karmageddon Media — formerly Hammerheart Records — have since issued various incomplete demo recordings as two separate low-quality albums, "Zero Tolerance" and "Zero Tolerance II").

Jane Schuldiner, mother of late DEATH/CONTROL DENIED frontman Chuck Schuldiner, had previously stated about the unfinished recordings: "[Chuck's]last masterpiece deserves more than to be released as unfinished bits of rehearsal room recordings on CD, or to be grabbed for free on the Internet. It deserves to be finished by the rest of the band and to be released on a full-length album, titled: 'When Machine and Man Collide'."

Maar goed iig ook weer een DVD erbij (liever van oude line ups maar goed...)

On November 11, Nuclear Blast records will release the DVD "Death: Live in Cottbus".

It will include all the press pictures from the TSOP era as well. Also, a new DELUXE edition of "The Sound of Perseverance" will contain "Live in Cottbus" as a bonus DVD. The "Live in Cottbus" tracklist will be the same as "Live in L.A.".

Wat een onzin zeg hier 5 jaar geleden. Death was niet de eerste "Deathmetal" band en het is er ook niet naar vernoemd. Maar goed dat is alweer een tijd terug he...
