Bij Autopsy vind ik de drum wel belangrijk, dus vind het niet zo erg dat die voor in de mix zit. De mini heb ik alleen als mp3 beluisterd, dus daar kan ik geen oordeel bij vormen.

Ik vind de mini qua sound ok klinken richting Shitfun, terwijl de nieuwe plaat me muzikaal af en toe zelfs aan Scream bloody gore doet denken (anderzijds niet verwonderlijk maar toch..)

Beide fijne aanschafferts, al wordt Mental Funeral natuurlijk niet overtroffen.

AUTOPSY To Enter Studio In October - Sep. 9, 2011

Legendary San Francisco Bay Area gore grind act AUTOPSY has issued the following update:

"We go into the studio at the end of October to record three new songs. It will be a taste of the new album that will soon follow. The three new songs will be released on a special release by Peaceville Records. It will also include all the EPs ('Tomb Within', 'Fiend for Blood', 'Retribution For The Dead', 'Horrific Obsession' 7", and 'Funereality') that are out of print. A jackhammer to your skull."

"Macabre Eternal", the first full-length album from AUTOPSY since 1995's "Shitfun", sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 67 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Macabre Eternal" was recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California and includes AUTOPSY's first 10-plus minute song "Sadistic Gratification".

AUTOPSY had previously decided to make an official comeback after working together on two songs for the special 20th-anniversary edition of debut album, "Severed Survival", in late 2008; the band having originally split before the release of its fourth album, "Shitfun", in 1995. A five-song EP, "The Tomb Within", came out last September and saw the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler joined on bass by Joe Trevisano (ex-ABSCESS).

California death metal pioneer, AUTOPSY, will re-release its all-time classic slab of brutality, "Mental Funeral", on October 17th via Peaceville Records.

The special 20th anniversary edition of "Mental Funeral" will be released as a CD/DVD package with a bonus DVD containing two previously unseen shows from Rotterdam 1990 and San Pedro, California in 1991, as well as new extensive liner notes written by the band and a track-by-track breakdown.

Dat nieuwe nummer is erg vet! Als de rest van het materiaal van even hoge kwaliteit is hebben we weer een cd die hoog op de jaarlijst gaat komen!

De nieuwe, Tourniquets,Hacksaws and Graves, is weer erg vet

Klinkt goed ja. Ik denk geen top lijst materiaal aan het einde van het jaar, maar wie weet.

Ik heb alleen het Mental Funeral album hier liggen. Ooit eens gekocht toen ik nog nauwelijks haar op mn piemel had. Lekkere lompe death metal om af en toe eens ff snoeihard aan te zetten. De rest ken ik niet en interesseert me ook niet.

Eerste twee zijn classic.

De comeback hoefde voor mij écht niet.

ik vond macabre eternal nog wel gaaf maar idd alles daarna hoefde niet.

shitfun overigens underrated tbh.

Nooit gehoord, vanwege de cover, dan moet ik direct kotsen als ik dat zie.
