Na het verwerken van ruim 40 lijsten is de correlatie in de geaggregeerde scores tussen de maillijsten en de forumlijsten 0.31. Ik heb geen idee of dat veel of weinig is, en geen idee of het concept correlatie toepasselijk is in deze situatie.

Het lijkt me natuurlijker een gewogen correlatie te berekenen, aangezien het bijvoorbeeld belangrijker lijkt dat de lijsten wat betreft de 50 hoogstgewaardeerde albums op elkaar lijken dan op de 50 laagstgewaardeerde albums. Hier heb ik als eerste probeersel aangenomen dat die 'hoogte van de waardering' gelijk is aan de inverse van de positie van het album in de geaggregeerde jaarlijst (dus de som van forum en mail). De nummer 1 in de geaggregeerde jaarlijst krijgt dus een gewicht van 1. De nummer 2, 0.5, de nummer 3, 0.33, enzovoorts. Dit genereert een stevige bias voor overlap in de twee lijsten in de hogere regionen van de lijsten. Zo is de som van de gewichten van de 25 hoogstgewaardeerde platen gelijk aan 60% van de som van gewichten, en is de eerste plek al bijna 16% waard. Dan is de gewogen correlatie 0.68.

Bij een wat meer stapsgewijze weging, waarbij de gewichten gelijk zijn aan:
