Afgelopen weekend nog eens aan Abigor's 'Satanized (A Journey Through Cosmic Infinity)' begonnen. Enkele jaren geleden zette ik de plaat al eens op, maar toen gaf ik het halverwege op. Deze keer het album dus uitgeluisterd, en ik moet zeggen, het heeft wel iets. Het is retesnelle, smerige en bij wijlen thrashy black metal. De drummer speelt vrij sloppy en de productie is ook niet top, maar ondanks deze minpunten is het album toch best genietbaar als je eens zin hebt in complete chaos. Na de chaos van 'Satanized' nog eens een black metal klassieker opgezet, de machtige 'Satanic Art' EP van de Noren van Dødheimsgard. Wat valt hier nog over te zeggen... Het begin van hun industrial/avant-garde periode. Een pak harder dan opvolger '666 International', die dan weer de batshit crazy kant opgaat. Sowieso top 3 wat mijn favoriete black metal EP's betreft! |
