Greek extreme metal veterans ROTTING CHRIST have issued the following update:

"New songs composing process has almost been completed and the band is ready to enter the studio for the recording sessions of its upcoming album that will follow up the very successful latest album, 'Theogonia'. Sakis Tolis (vocals, guitar) will take care of the production again, and as being the main composer too, he declares that he had his most trippy and exhausted simultaneously experience on his career squeezing his mind drawing down ideas that will follow up the band's latest album, 'Theogonia', and the end of the process find him as well as the whole band totally convicted that they finally managed it. We haven't more to say than proving it with the upcoming recordings and of course with its release that roughly estimated to be released in January 2010."

ROTTING CHRIST Begins Recording New Album - Sep. 19, 2009

Greek extreme metal veterans ROTTING CHRIST have entered Lunatach Studios, located at Mount Olympus — said to be Greece's highest mountain and the home to the Gods of Greek mythology — to begin recording their new album for an early 2010 release. The group, which spent more than a year writing material for the follow-up to 2007's "Theogonia", is promising that the new CD will "have the heavy soulful load to move the band a step forward from their previous output," according to a posting on the ROTTING CHRIST MySpace page. "The well-established style and melodies of the band as well as the so many artistically surprises that always exist with each band's release guarantee their fans a soulful trip."

Nieuwe langspeler van Rotting Christ

De Griekse black metal formatie Rotting Christ is alweer toe aan het tiende volledige album. De titel Aealo is volgens frontman Sakis Tolis een Latijnse vertaling van een oud Grieks woord, dat vernieling, catastrofe of vernietiging betekent. De titel reflecteert de muzikale en tekstuele inhoud van het album. Het concept van Aealo houdt zich namelijk bezig met de gevoelens van een krijger gedurende een gevecht, zoals zijn woede, angst en verdriet. De plaat bevat een cover van het nummer Orders From The Dead van Diamanda Galás. Sakis heeft nieuwe muziek geschreven voor deze song, maar de originele vocalen van de zangeres zullen wel te horen zijn. Primordial-frontman Naihmass Nemtheanga levert eveneens een gastbijdrage aan het album. Op 15 februari moet Aealo in de winkel liggen.

Greek extreme metallers ROTTING CHRIST will release their new album, "Aealo", on February 15 in Europe and February 23 in the U.S. via Season Of Mist. The CD was recorded at Lunatach Studios in Katerini, Greece and will feature guest appearances by Greek-American vocalist Diamanda Galas and PRIMORDIAL frontman Alan A. Nemtheanga.
