Het is the Last Sucker.
Ik vind 'em eerlijk gezegd erg tegenvallen. Wat meer de 'oude' Ministry, dus wat minder metal dan de vorige plaat, en juist dat beviel me er zo goed aan. Het is best een gave plaat geworden hoor, maar ik had er gewoon meer van verwacht. Pluspunten vind ik de Doors cover 'Roadhouse Blues' en Death & Destruction.
Misschien moet ik hem nog een paar keer luisteren, maar vooralsnog klikt het niet echt heel erg.

After 27 years, 11 studio albums, four Grammy nominations, and plenty of pain, MINISTRY will release its final album, "The Last Sucker", on September 18. This will give Jourgensen plenty of time to devote himself to expanding his borderland compound, 13th Planet Records.

"I've got a lot of side-projects and new projects I want to focus on," explained Jourgensen. "We have our our own label, 13th Planet Records, we're building, and I want to sign, produce and collaborate with other artists. Being in the studio writing, recording and collaborating is my favorite part of this snake-oil industry. I'd rather be behind the console than behind the mic. Plus, I kinda like the synchronicity of Dubya and MINISTRY riding off into the sunset hand in hand."

"The Last Sucker" is the third in an unrelenting and uber-critical trilogy aimed at exposing the foils, failures and fabrications perpetrated by the George W. Bush administration. The CD, which follows 2004's "Houses of the Molé" and last year's "Rio Grande Blood", is the final nail in the Dubya coffin. The album was produced and recorded by Jourgensen himself at his 13th Planet compound in El Paso, TX, with musicians Thomas Victor (PRONG) on guitars, Paul Raven (KILLING JOKE, PRONG) on bass and guitarist Sin Quirin (THE REVOLTING COCKS). In addition, Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY) makes a vocal appearance on "Die In A Crash", as well as the album's final two songs, "End of Days" parts One and Two.

Voor iedereen die Ministry nog nooit live gezien heeft: maak gebruik van deze laatste kans! Vorig jaar was het mijn inziens by far het hoogtepunt van Wacken

Heb er zin in! Zal ze tijdens hun laatste tour (komend voorjaar/zomer) in ieder geval minimaal op 1 festival nog wel zien (graspop, hellfest, metalcamp, ?), maar zou ze liever nog eens in een zaal zien. Ik las ergens dat ze in de USA optredens gaan geven van 2,5 uur, en aangezien dat waarschijnlijk niet haalbaar is op een festival is een zaal dan nog meer de moeite waard...

De goden der Industrial Metal van Ministry zijn terug. Nadat ze twee jaar terug afscheid hadden genomen hebben ze vandaag een splinternieuw nummer ter download gezet op Itunes. Ministry covert het zeer bekende Thunderstruck van AC/DC. Het nummer kost $1,29 om te downloaden, maar hieronder kun je een voorbeeld van dertig seconden luisteren.

Net als bij Immortal was de reünie al gepland voor de split?

Al Jourgensen and Ministry Plan New Album After Three-Year Breakup

Regular exercise, a vegetarian diet, no more smoking or drinking — the Al Jourgensen of today is not the same as the one from three years ago, which is when he pulled the plug on Ministry.

Saying he feels “the healthiest I’ve been in over 20 years,” Jourgensen has revived his old industrial rock band, which will release a new album by the end of the year and hit the road in 2012.

Jourgensen’s road to personal recovery was very bumpy. In March 2010, following a seizure, Jourgensen was taken to an intensive care unit, where he flatlined.

“I couldn’t hold down food, and I just didn’t know what was wrong,” he adds. “I spent a week in ICU, where they gave me a 100 percent blood transfusion.” He’s not sure who donated the blood, but he has a feeling it was “some old lady from Kansas because I have a really strong desire to knit.”

While working on his Buck Satan album (due in November), Jourgensen realized he had about five to seven songs that were more suitable for Ministry. That planted the seed for the forthcoming Ministry album, titled ‘Relapse,’ which Jourgensen expects to finish in the next few months.

“I think this is actually gonna wind up being the fastest and heaviest record I’ve ever done,” he says.

2003 ofzo? Met twee drummers op het podium? Buiten de tent was het al abnormaal hard inderdaad. Gaaf optreden was het wel!

Was 2003 volgens mij inderdaad. Zag ze toen in Nijmegen in een tent (Fields of Rock ofzo?) en ook in Paradiso. Dat was inderdaad verschrikkelijk luid.
