Former DEATH/MASSACRE Guitarist RICK ROZZ To Guest On New AFFLICTION GATE EP - July 29, 2010

French old-school death metallers AFFLICTION GATE have issued the following update:

"First of all, we finally decided to add our session live lead guitarist as an official member of the band now: Bobby (member of old-school thrash metal band HUNGRY JOHNNY) showed a real involvement, interest and dedication to AFFLICTION GATE so we came to the conclusion that he was the best for this job more than ever.

"We are working on new material to complete and release a mini-CD, including three brand new tracks (one of them being a collaboration with Rogga Johansson of PAGANIZER, BONE GNAWER, ex-EDGE OF SANITY, etc.) and a MASSACRE cover, 'Corpsegrinder'. This recording will also appear on a bonus seven-inch EP coming with the 'Aeon Of Nox...' limited LP version. It's a bit early to speak about a release date but we really hope that both MCD and LP+EP will be available for early 2011 both still on Metal Inquisition Records (Germany), of course.

"A slightly alternate version of 'The Worst Is Yet To Come' with some different arrangements might be recorded for a promo sampler of Metal Inquisition Records.

"The idea of an official video clip for the song 'Knights Of Scorn' is on hold. Not sure if it will ever happen, anyway, as it's not a priority at the moment. Time will tell...

"We have the immense privilege to announce that Rick Rozz (MANTAS, DEATH, MASSACRE, M.INC) agreed to guest on our upcoming recording later this year.

"It's just fucking awesome and unbelievable for us to have this death metal originator at our side whose work on milestones as [DEATH's] 'Leprosy' and [MASSACRE's] 'From Beyond' had such an impact on us as death metal fans back in the very early '90s and still today through our music! He will contribute with [solos] on one of our new tracks and on our infamous 'Corpsegrinder' [MASSACRE] cover version."

AFFLICTION GATE's debut album, "Aeon of Nox (From Darkness Comes Liberation)", was released last year via Metal Inquisition (the thrash/death metal division of No Colours Records).

The band's "Severance (Dead To This World)" EP came out in December 2008 through Forgotten Wisdom Productions.

Geef eens uitleg, hyppie. Want ik ben het niet met je eens. Ok, voor de jongere metalliefhebbers misschien. Maar ouwe lullen hebben over het algemeen massacre erg hoog zitten. En terecht. From beyond is een cultalbum. Vind ik iig wel.

een ontdekking geweest, maar nooit heruitgebracht of veel gezien als referentie,

terwijl het toch echt wel puik materiaal is

Is wel opnieuw uitgebracht, meen ik. Met de Inhuman Condition ep als bonus. Warhead cover met cronos en kam met grunts is werkelijk heerlijk.

Ik ben zelf al jaren niet meer zo van de death metal, maar massacre heeft een warm plaatsje in mijn hart.

Dat zeer zeker niet!
Massacre behoort net als b.v. Master, tot de bands die de Death Metal nog eens extra naar voren brachten, in een eigen unieke sound. En veel als invloed werdt genoemd toen de Death Metal in zijn top populariteit was.
Helaas hebben ze hetzelf laten afweten de tweede helft van de jaren negentig waardoor the "new kids" er niets van kennen, een zeer trieste constatering!!

RICK ROZZ's M INC. Project Schedules Live Debut - Dec. 14, 2010

M INC., the new Orlando, Florida-based band featuring former DEATH/MASSACRE guitarist Frederick "Rick Rozz" DeLillo, will make its live debut as the support act for OBITUARY on Friday, January 21 at State Theater in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

M INC. was formed last year by Rozz, Terry Shrock (SHINE; since departed) on vocals and bass and Mike Mazzonetto (ex-PAIN PRINCIPLE) on drums. The group is said to be Rick's first foray into extreme music since the mid-'90s and his MASSACRE days. Indeed, the band was initially supposed to be called MASSACRE INC., but out of respect to MASSACRE's drummer Bill Andrews and a desire to not live in the past, the name was changed to M INC.

M INC. is:

Chris Jack (Vocals)
Mike Mazzonetto (Drums)
Timmy Vazquez (Bass, Vocals)
Rick Rozz (Guitars)

M INC. contributed an exclusive track, "Angel of Descent", to the Fall of Eden Records compilation "Fallen Souls". The CD features 14 other bands, including GORE SANCTUM (U.K.), MISCONDÜCTERS (U.K.) and MORDETH (Brazil).

Over the past decade, Rick has played in a number of other projects, including southern rock and acoustic bands.

Rozz was a member of the pre-DEATH band MANTAS alongside Chuck Schuldiner and Kam Lee and played on DEATH's seminal and unforgettable "Leprosy" album. As part of MASSACRE, he helped produce those massively influential demos that set the '80s tape trading scene alight and the classic album "From Beyond", not to mention the superb EP "Inhuman Condition".

Commented Butler in a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "Rick and I are very excited about bringing MASSACRE to Europe. We want to give the fans (new and old) a chance to hear MASSACRE again. This is not a 'farewell tour' or a 'reunion tour.'"

Added Rozz: "I would just like to say I am involved in this tribute to MASSACRE, a band that I spent many years of my life in, in a few different ways, and have written many songs for. I now have been invited by Terry Butler to be involved in this tribute. This is not, and there never will be, a reunion. This, to me, is a few friends, new and old, paying tribute to part of Terry Butler and my past, so let's have some fun, and put these 20-plus-year-old tracks in overdrive, This will be the most powerful/heavy/brutal MASSACRE live gig in the history of the band, in my opinion."
