Stream van het nieuwe album van Gura. Mij eigenlijk totaal onbekend.
Erop gebotst omdat het uitkomt op Consouling Sounds.
Avant garde doom/sludge noemen ze het blijkbaar, en daar valt wel wat voor te zeggen.

Zal het voor mezelf nog een aantal keer moeten beluisteren om te kunnen achterhalen of ik dit nu echt vet vind, of eerder leuk voor een keer.
Denk wel dat er hier meerderen zijn die dit behoorlijk geniaal zullen vinden.

Tribulation moet nog een beetje bezinken, maar vind ik voorlopig niet meer dan aardig.

De eerste plaat van 2018 die me echt bij de strot grijpt: Agrimonia - Awaken. Post-metal/doom/blackmetal/punk. Ruwe vocalen, prachtige veelzijdige melodieuze instrumentatie en hele dynamische composities.

Een kwartier lang, maar zeer boeiend. Lange, sinistere opbouw met weirde clean vox, en dan op 8:30 een overgang naar beenharde BM, die me qua sound en uitstraling een beetje doet denken aan (nota bene!) good old Enslaved anno 1994. Oeh, dat smaakt.

Sterk debuut ja. Zou ze eigenlijk eerder dit jaar zien met Sidious in Londen. Maar is er helaas niet van gekomen vanwege een te volle agenda dat weekend. Is o.a. met de zangeres van Shape of Despair.

Naast een nieuw album van A Perfect Circle (20 april), worden geruchten steeds concreter rondom ook een nieuw album van Tool dit jaar.

Nummers en lyrics zouden grotendeels geschreven zijn. Mogelijks opnames in april en release deze zomer. Evengoed duurt het natuurlijk nog een paar jaar, maar toch ... ik krijg er zowaar hoop door dat het toch echt dit jaar zal gebeuren.
