Batillus




Originally conceived in 2007 as an instrumental trio, Batillus’ (pronounced ‘buh-TILL-us’) lineup expanded in 2009 to add vocals and synth. The New York-based band has recorded and released a pair of EPs on their own, both of which are now sold out. In July of 2010, they released a 12” split with Maine’s Hallowed Butchery via Berlin-based label Vendetta Records.

In May, 2010, Batillus recorded their debut full-length record at Semaphore Studios with engineer Sanford Parker (Yob, Rwake, Unearthly Trance, Nachtmystium, Pelican). The record, to be called ‘Furnace,’ will be released in the spring of 2011 via Seventh Rule Recordings in North America and the UK and Vendetta Records in continental Europe.

Succes met vinden, of ze moeten m nog steeds gratis op hun site aanbieden. Maar zowel de cd als tape versie was gelimiteerd tot 100 stuks.

Staat een briljante cover van Gloomy Sunday op en ook The Legend en Devoid of Redemption zijn hier stukken beter dan op de full length.

Tyranny - Tides of Awakening aan het luisteren nu. Die is uit 2005, dus ik dacht die hebben inmiddels wel nieuw spul. Niet dus. Band is volgens M-A nog gewoon active...

Wie kent hier Elegeion ('bekend' van de Youtube-hit 'Scars')? Ik kom er net achter dat ze vorig jaar een nieuw nummer van 15 minuten hebben uitgebracht op hun Bandcamp: http://elegeion.bandcamp.com/track/reignstorm

Aanrader voor fans van het oude Anathema (vooral in- en outro) en doom met zangeres. De 2e helft van het nummer heeft ook wel wat black metal-trekjes. Ik vind het mooi.

On March 31st of this year, Scion A/V put on a showcase in which PALLBEARER, WOLVHAMMER, LOSS, THE ATLAS MOTH, and YOB performed and crushed respectively in Pomona, California. In addition to the band doing video interviews, the show was recorded for a special and exclusive live compilation featuring songs from each band’s set. The art for this compilation was designed by Animetalphysical and will be available very soon (we’ll keep you informed) in a limited CD run and will be available for free.

Kleine hype met hun laatste album Narwhal. Album vd dag bij Roadburn.com, hoop goede reviews en met twee zangeressen, Billy Anderson achter de knoppen en vergelijkingen met oa. Khanate.
Kan niet missen zou je denken, maar toch weet ik het niet helemaal, het klinkt wat netjes, bedacht en het mist iets naar mijn idee.

Hmm, ik vind het wel wat hebben.
