R.I.P. Adam Young 1987 - 2016 Tragically, the father half of Sockweb passed away last weekend, leaving Joanie, at just 10 years old, without a father. Death is a hard thing to process. Adam was a complicated man. He was funny, often outrageous, and controversial, but he had a great heart. He was also totally effortless to get along with, which is why so many people loved him, despite the fact that many of them never actually met him. Nobody's perfect, but the true measure of a man is how they treat their children, and despite Adam's imperfections, he loved his daughter more than anything. He was a good father, and the bond they shared was incredible. I still have the behind the scenes clips of Joanie and Adam working on the record, and they're as adorable as they are amazing. They used to bring me joy, now they only bring me tears. Sadly, a mother has lost her only child, and an amazingly talented young daughter has lost her father, and most selfishly, I have lost a friend, an occasional adversary, and a brother. I know that what I'm feeling is only a fraction of what his daughter must be feeling right now, and no child as young as that should ever have to face that burden. Whenever the dust settled after one of our disagreements, he always used to tell me "We're brothers man, sometimes we fight." And through it, we both achieved our first (relative) success in music. And what's more, we had all of you guys - the Sockwebbers; the fans that made all the struggle worth it - who put a smile on a young girl's face and a proud father, just through your kind words, love and support. Currently, we are working on a special tribute T-shirt that will have a very limited run. Once that, and the few pieces of remaining merch are gone - then it's all gone. The majority of profit will go towards a fund for Joanie, to help her and her family. What's more, if any of you can spread any positivity, either through comments or shares, it would be greatly appreciated. Joanie needs to see that her father and the music they made together is cherished and loved. Goodbye Adam. I hope you find another life that brings you the solace, acceptance, and love that you desired in this one. Thanks for the memories. Thanks for the laughs. Thanks for the love. Thanks for being flawed. Thanks for being unique. Thanks for the music. Thanks for being you. Rest in peace, buddy.
