20 jaar geleden hadden ze al 3 kut platen uitgebracht, dus toen waren de eerste 3 (4 ook wel een beetje, natuurlijk) zeker al klassiekers.

Vandaag alweer 31 jaar geleden dat Cliff Burton overleed. Tijd voor een van de mooiste instrumentale metalnummers ooit gemaakt.

Be a part of the acceptance of this and the adventure, and if it starts to get personal and you don't like it, you can jump off at any point, because there's always hopefully going to be someone who enjoys that enthusiasm about creation, and there will always be a seat for that person."

In a 2016 interview with TeamRock, Hetfield was asked what he thought late METALLICA bassist Cliff Burton might have felt about the drastic changes in METALLICA's look and sound that the band made through the 1990s and early 2000s with albums like "Load", "Reload" and "St. Anger". Hetfield replied: "Well, I certainly would have thought there would have been some resistance, for sure. I think the 'Black Album' was a great album and I appreciate the fact that we did have the balls to do that… I would certainly think that the 'Load' and 'Reload' [era], I would have had an ally that was very against it all — the reinvention or the U2 version of METALLICA."

Vrij veel fillers ja. Maar ik kon die bluesy inslag wel waarderen eigenlijk.

Load was best wel leuk, die draai ik nog regelmatig.

Reload was mijn kennismaking met Metallica. Luister er nog steeds met enige regelmaat naar. Vette sound, en mooi sfeertje.

Heb sowieso een zwak voor de "zoekende" Metallica: St. Anger vind ik ook te gek.

Dave Mustaine has blamed Lars Ulrich for the delay in re-releasing Metallica’s No Life ’Til Leather demo tape.

The expanded version of the 1982 original, which featured Megadeth leader Mustaine on guitar, was due launch in 2015. It was never released, with drummer Ulrich reporting in 2016 that “unexpected difficulties on the legal side” were to blame.

But in a tweet earlier today, Mustaine has given his side of the story.

He says: “James contacted me two years ago. We were going to officially release the No Life ’Til Leather demo as a record, with 27 tracks, pics, the whole enchilada, and the talks broke down because Lars wanted credit on two songs. I wrote every note and word too. I have the texts. I passed.”

Goed bezig weer die Lars.

Lars had idd al aangegeven dat er iemand niet akkoord was met de credits en dat dat de release tegenhield. Mustaine zal in deze wel gelijk hebben.

Ik vond de riffs ook nooit zo. Ik heb kill 'em all zo ongeveer van voren naar achteren meegespeeld in de jaren 80. Maar dit nummer nooit uitgezocht. Omdat het vre-se-lijk is. Phantom lord op twee qua mindere nummers. Maar die kan ik wel spelen, lol.
