Former MORBID ANGEL Guitarist, CANNIBAL CORPSE Singer Team Up In PATHS OF POSSESSION - June 6, 2003

Florida's PATHS OF POSSESSION, the new band featuring former MORBID ANGEL guitarist Richard Brunelle and CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, will release a limited-edition split CD (also featuring Ft. Pierce, Florida's DARK FAITH) on June 19 through Splattergod Records.

Formerly known as SWOLLEN, PATHS OF POSSESSION's contribution to the CD will consist of "six slabs of unholy blasphemy that is sure to rip your face off," according to an official press release. Only 1,000 copies of the album will be pressed and distributed worldwide.

MORBID ANGEL will be taped by Juliya and the Uranium crew for an upcoming episode. Those who have heard the first recordings of the new MORBID ANGEL album said it will "be a monster". Here's what guitarist Trey Azagoth had to say on the new record:

"This MORBID ANGEL record will shatter boundaries. I won't give much away at this stage in the game but suffice to say there are parts of songs in which the polyrhythms are such that the listener might think he is listening to two different songs at once."

The latest on the album is, drums have been nailed down, and they've been working with bass and rhythm guitars. The last few days were concentrated on getting bass/vocal tones, as well as recording bass and vocals for two songs. And with the reports trailing back a few days...don't doubt that Trey has already started the lead guitars already!"

Wat is polyrithmiek eigenlijk precies?

Dat zijn meerdere verschillende ritmes die naast elkaar gespeeld worden. De naam zegt het eigenlijk al.

Ik weet niet of dat zo'n aanrader is; meestal is betekent 'technischer' ook meteen 'langzamer'...

nouja, het moet het liefst niet ineens van die ontzettend ingewikkelde muziek worden, doe die aspiraties eens gaan verwerken in een project ofzo.

Tucker here. I am done tracking all of the bass and vocals for the new cd, and I can truly say that I have done some things I never did before vocally on this recording. I am extremely pleased with the material, and I think everyone involved is doing a tremendous job. Pete did an incredible performance on drums, and songwriting as usual! Trey has put together a seriously twisted set of songs that I am very proud to be a part of. I haven't heard the solos yet, but I am quite sure they will be amazing as always! Punchy and the studio are great!! I can say that the bass tones we got on this record (Punchy and I) are excellent, the kind of bass sound I always wanted -- very driven and gritty yet very audible, it blends perfect with the drums guitars and vox. Punchy is great to work with -- a true friend of the band -- and I hope we do this again. The mixing is starting and I think this will be an amazing sounding record.

MOOI! Het album is praktisch klaar zeg maar blij dat de meeste metalbands nauwelijks geld voor een studio hebben/ besteden; nemen ze tenminste lekker snel op!
