"Then the main ritual took the stage. It was weird to see those joking and laughing Dutchmen turning to the beast called Urfaust, although there weren’t any robes, masks, spikes or other props to do this transformation. It was the music, the atmosphere. The howling and epic guitar screams which split your ears and mind like a banshee. The monotonous but still powerful drums which created visions of funeral marches and obscure rituals in my drunken mind. And the tortured vocals and masochistically enjoyable croons which worked as well as on the albums, maybe even better.

And it was fascinating to see how perfect and massive a wall of sound just two guys can build. The good sound system of Hellä helped a lot, and so the riffs wailed clearly and powerfully over the audience – because it isn’t just about the atmosphere, Urfaust’s riffs and songs also have a catchy edge you can easily cut yourself into.

There weren’t any speeches, stage jumping or cheap communication with the audience, just that music and the performance, which showed best on IX’s face: when those clean, wailing vocals took their place, that sweaty smirk was so demonic that you might have thought this preacher man is possessed. The drummer VRDRBR threw some clever rock clichés behind the drum kit but this didn’t break the spell – it just showed that in the end this is metal, a show, a form of art made by human beings.

And then it was over, maybe too soon. For example Geist Ist Teufel had pushed me onto the edge of despair, and it was a quite hollow feeling to come back to the normal state of mind. This was a trip to Hell and back, a true catharsis."

Hoe zit het eigenlijk met die vinyl versie van de laatste mini, die zou rond deze tijd uit komen niet? Ik zie 'm nog nergens verkrijgbaar.

Klopt, is nog neit uit.. er zijn wat poroblemen met de gravure.. maar dit komt goed....


verder kan ik melden dat URFAUST zal optreden op 8 november in AACHEN (ger) op de release party van The Devil's Blood:

"It's a great honour to support our Devil worshipping friends of THE DEVIL'S BLOOD on their release party of their album " Come, Reap" together with other Ván Records acts TRUPPENSTURM and GRAUPEL!!!!

De re-release van "Geist ist Teufel" op cd en vinyl zal binnenkort uitkomen: alles ligt bij de perserij en zal een dezer dagen naar het label (Terratur Possessions / Apocalyptic Empire) verscheept worden...

Terratur Possessions zal waarschijnlijk ook het 2e album opnieuw op cd en vinyl uitgeven.

Verder is het artwork voor de gravure op de "Drei Rituale jenzeits des Kosmos" vinyl nu eindelijk klaar en zal die vinyl verzie dus ook binnenkort uit komen op Debemur Morti...
