IRON MAIDEN Frontman Working On Movie About ALEISTER CROWLEY - Dec. 8, 2006

Rock star, pilot and expert swordsman — now IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson has even becomes a movie producer.

This week, Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that Dickinson is working on a film about the satanist Aleister Crowley.

"They are hoping for the Cannes festival," a source told Expressen.

Crowley has been Bruce Dickinson's idol for many years. The IRON MAIDEN song "Revelations" is said to refer to Crowley's classic claim that he was the "anti-christ 666" reincarnated. In other words, the Devil himself.

Bruce Dickinson is now involved in the pre-production of a movie inspired by Crowley, who lived between 1875 and 1947.

"The project has been going on for a while, and is still at an early pre-production stage," said Dave Pattenden from IRON MAIDEN's management. "At the moment, Bruce cannot comment on the movie."

The financing is ready and the movie is reportedly about a professor in an English university, who, after a failed experiment, becomes obsessed with Crowley's soul. Crowley himself was very much into red-haired women, and the professor becomes enchanted by a very beautiful, red-haired student.

"Bruce talked to me about this during the whole dinner," said Expressen's source. "He is producing and is probably participating creatively as well. I even think Bruce will be doing the soundtrack for the movie. I know nothing about dates yet, but I think it will be released near the Cannes festival. That's what Bruce is hoping for."

Dat is dus je eerste Graspop neem ik aan.

Beetje een uitmelk concept die nieuwe tour, wacht wel tot 2008 voor een nieuwe History tour met nummers van de tweede helft van de jaren 80, meest interessante periode van Maiden.

Het doet me net zoveel als dit gezelschap:

Is het mensen al opgevallen dat in de nieuwe Sony commercial 'Can I play with madness' zit?

Ik hoop in ieder geval dat ze Can i play with madness niet in 2008 spelen, er staan wel veel betere nummers op Seventh Son.
Dat geldt ook voor dit jaar, Children of the Damned en The prisoner, en niet weer de gebruikelijke 4 van The Beast.

Haha, ja, zag hem voor het eerst tijdens de rust van de Europa Cup I finale tussen AC Milan en FC Liverpool.

Best stoer dat ze voor dat nummer hebben gekozen, nummer was ook vrij lang te horen en de commercial werd nog eens 4 keer herhaald in de bewuste reclameblok.

Het liefst zie ze de show openen met Caught Somewhere In Time, maar Moonchild is ook een lekkere furieuze opener.

Ga er vanauit dat ze zeker de titelsong van 7th Son, spelen, hopelijk spelen ze ook The Prophecy en vooral Only The Good Die Young.

Ik vrees het ergste, op 4 september 1988 in Tilburg, M.O.R., speelden ze van Seventh Son het titelnummer, Moonchild, Can i play with madness, The evil that men do, Infinite Dreams en The Clairvoyant.
The Prophecy en Only the good die youg zijn nog nooit live uitgevoerd, en ik denk volgend jaar ook niet.
Daar mocht Iron Maiden wel eens naar luisteren, dat hun fans eens een verrassing willen horen.
