Pestilence, War, Famine and Death

This interpretation rearranges the order in which the horsemen arrive to end the world, and a slight change to their personae. Pestilence is portrayed as a distinct entity, separate from Famine, and takes Conquest's normal place in the lineup.

The first horseman to appear is Pestilence, who rides upon a white horse. Pestilence conquers the nations of the world, subjugating them to demonic powers of the world. In the wake of Pestilence comes War, a large, wild and red horse and wields a tremendous sword symbolizing continuing war over the domination of the world, killing millions in his path with his sword. In the wake of War, due to immense destruction because of War and Pestilence, is Famine. Famine is portly rides upon a black, sickly horse representing gluttony and hung. And in the wake of Famine, comes the pale rider, Death. His horse is stark pale. He is followed by Hades and carries the remaining souls to their final destinations.[8]

It is this interpretation which is most commonly used as the basis for pop culture's uses of the Four Horsemen concept.

Goed optreden, alleen jammer dat de geluidsman het liet afweten. Op een of andere manier blijft Jason Newsted het meest sympathieke (ex) bandlid van Metallica...

Van Mustaine bijvoorbeeld hoef je niet veel te verwachten nee.

Hehe, een drummer met het ego van een frontman, het komt weinig voor. Als Larsje net zo strak en gevarieerd zou drummen als zijn ego groot is, dan kwam ie muzikaal nog ergens. Ik blijf me afvragen waarom hij nog al die jaren nog in de band zit. Het zal ongetwijfeld meer te maken met zijn zakelijke inzicht dan zijn muzikale kwaliteiten...

Hij is natuurlijk ook gewoon één van de oprichters van de band.

Dat waren Dave Mustaine en Ron McGovney ook...zij werden wel zonder pardon uit de band gezet om verschillende redenen...

weet alleen dat die gast van megadeth (mustaine???) idd mede oprichter was en dat 't botste met Hetfield... tenminste, dat kwam een tijd terug voorbij in de zoveelste herhaling van 1 of ander "metal" programma op (m)tv... mtv is dan ook net zo sensationeel als de telegraaf...

Who'd have thought it when, on October 28th, 1981, drummer Lars Ulrich made guitar player/singer James Hetfield an offer he couldn't refuse: "I’ve got a track saved for my band on Brian Slagel's new Metal Blade label."

The truth is, Lars didn't have a band at that time, but he did that day when James joined him. The two recorded their first track on a cheap recorder with James performing singing duties, rhythm guitar duties and bass guitar duties. Lars dutifully pounded the drums, helped with musical arrangements and acted as manager. Hetfield's friend and housemate Ron McGovney was eventually talked into taking up bass and Dave Mustaine took lead guitar duties.
